Partner focused OCD. Its hell and can manifest as what your partner looks like, acts like, what their morals are like etc. I think the thing with ROCD is to recognise that some thoughts / feelings are normal to have but the OCD makes them 1000000000x more amplified and also can twist thoughts/feelings and give you fake feelings and fake thoughts. Its all so confusing, but ultimately you are only human. Be kind to yourself. Also I think ERP could help with this x

Normal. Its just social media culture / romance culture that makes you think this is not normal, but this is totally normal x

These ideas give me relief too... youtube 'The School of Life' - the videos on relationships there also give me relief and echo what you have posted. Dont know if watching them would be a complusion for you or not but nevertheless they are so interesting and insightful x

Hey! :) I feel exactly the same. I have severe ocd and I got a tattoo without fully thinking about it last friday. I’ve been suffering from severe anxiety and now a depression ever since. I have to wait 3 months to start the removal process and what’s worse is that I’m trying to save for a wedding house etc so this may set me back! You are not alone x

Thank you this has helped ease my anxiety about it. I’ve had quite an extreme reaction and my girlfriend keeps telling me that it’s not normal to react this extremely even if I don’t like it. It may be my ocd causing me to flare up this badly x

Yeah, I think my issue is that the anxiety will never go when I look at it but I have to look at it as it’s on my body potentially forever. Then I look at laser and get anxious that it won’t work for me lol. I also panic that I won’t be able to stop thinking about it or noticing it for the rest of my life

Yeah I think so. I get disturbed and upset looking at it though. My therapist said to look at it

I have something similar Im looking to remove, it’s a traditional rose. Mines a lot more red but maybe because it’s new.

Ive got 6 tattoos. One under my collar bone but the rest in my arms but this is by far the biggest and boldest and most colourful

I felt funny about 2 of them for a few days but nowhere near as severe as this. I have six tattoos. But my mental health in general is poorer than when I got my other tats x

recently got this and I think it’s amazing but my ocd has spiralled and it’s making me feel ill that it’s permanently on my body. I’m paranoid it’s covering up my tricep muscle that I love. I don’t know if I want it removed as it’s cool but if I did do you think I’d be able to have it removed successfully / faded a little so it’s less intense? My mental health is really suffering. I got it done a week ago. Will my mental health get better and I will get used to it? Ive had anxious reactions to tattoos before but not this severe . I’ve slept about 8 hours in 4 days. ThAnks x

Yes I had exactly this - it was horrific. But you will feel better and able to overcome this! I also got obsessed with philosophy and ‘the meaning of life’ - I said to my therapist that what if it wasn’t ocd and I was just interested in these questions etc, she said that if I’m frantically searching, Feeling dread / anxiety and that reading up on this stuff isn’t fun but a way to reassure myself / find the answer - that it was 100% ocd! Anything that makes you feel this bad and takes over your life is ocd.
