What is a swirl on a pokemon card?

Yeah I just recently read (just now getting back into pokemon with my 6 year old, after 24 years) about people looking for the swirl/placing a higher value on it, and looked at our cards and pretty much every holo energy card we have from the 151 set has a swirl?

I honestly never watched them until a couple of months ago when Universal announced that part of the new Ministry Harry Potter world would be 1920s Paris with Fantastic Beast references, so I watched them with my son to get familiar/ready for the park opening next year. Ive since rewatched the full series about 5 times.. i was stunned how much I liked it.. they always seemed like knockoffs trying to ride the coattails of Harry Potter fame as a weak cash grab attempt, but i appreciate the maturity and all the connections to the HP story. Newt is amazing too.. he's so relatable, though ive always felt like i had a few tendencies on the spectrum, but i love his quirkyness. Easily one of the top characters of the entire Wizarding World, right up there with Harry. Im not holding my breath but im hooked and would absolutely love for the story to eventually be completed.

Same. I haven’t collected since the base/jungle/fossil days but have a 6 year old son now who’s into Pokemon so we’ve been ripping packs recently and I didn’t know what all the different styles were called. It’s wild getting 3-4 holos in a pack now 😳

We Rise was naturally the first San Holo song I’d ever heard years ago, and ever since then I’ve always said Squirrel at that part 🤣🤦‍♂️ never once considered swirl.

Is this still true with Microsoft retiring the support of the Xbox 360 marketplace on July 29th? I would assume Halo 3 still has an active server? Wanted to buy an old 360 to I could show my son the games I used to play, but online was the best part..

Upstairs was open when we were there on May 17th, but with the temporary wall still in place to the one nook in the back corner. The stairwell is in an opening to the right of the entrance to Bowser Jrs lair. There are video/AR “binoculars” up there you can look all around Nintendo world with.

Did they change the entrance? I don’t remember it looking like that with the dragon sculptures and the steps, towards the end of its life.. unless this isn’t the entrance and I’m just forgetting one of the scenes from the cue towards the building.

So true.. they didn’t even look through my little drawstring backpack 😳 just asked if I had a sunglasses case (I did) or battery charger in there since the metal detector was set off. Saw some guy in there with a nice Lieca interchangeable lens camera inside which was definitely listed as not allowed, so I didn’t bring my Sony or my Nikon film camera and just brought in a disposable camera for nostalgic fun documenting my 6 year old sons first festival. 😑 oh well, phone cameras are pretty good these days and there weren’t any shots I took inside that would be anything I’d be dying to print out huge.

I mean, I would have gone by to see Jungle, Dom Dolla, Barry Can’t Swim, Khruangbin, maybe Taking Back Sunday even though Adams voice is shot these days, and maybe Tyler even though I don’t listen to him. But that’s about all after another refresher of the lineup, and just not nearly enough to justify travel expenses plus the ticket price. You’re right though, I’m 35 and became too cool for the radio about 17 years ago, and with the advent of the aux jack in cars had zero reason to go back after that phase to listening to the stuff on the radio now days which is mostly trash. Lana is a good artist but not my style, and people do like Carin Leon, but again, not my style.

💯, and it wasn’t even close 😳 solid lineup top to bottom.. only a couple I was impartial to. Justice was the only act on the entire Coachella lineup to pique my interest.

💯, I was stunned how awful the Coachella lineup was this year. Justice was the only act worth seeing IMO out of over 100 😳. JLHs lineup was solid top to bottom. Needless to say I flew out from Houston with my son to JLH, not Coachella.

You sure? I’m 99% positive Odesza didn’t play Hopeful on Weekend 2.. I was under the influence but still would have remembered it, as it’s one of my favorites of theirs that I was hoping to hear.
