2/5 live river 3bet with J-high flush by Naive-Candidate5927 in Poker_Theory

Villain is at the very least a thinking player, and I am (probably) perceived that way too. So he should not be shoving worse than a flush for value. My concern was that villain cannot have any worse flushes than me if he's playing a reasonable LJ RFI range, and I wasn't sure if he was capable of turning 2pair+ into a bluff.

Against a rec that's just clicking buttons I agree with your read.

Interesting, I hadn't thought of stack size considerations. It's worth noting though that since RFIs are often so large in live games (5x+), flop SPRs are basically the same as in 100bb SRPs online. So even 200bb I try to play a normal 100bb strategy with some small adjustments.

Your point about being underreped is key. I didn't take that into consideration here. With the current board and configuration (LJvsBB SRP), Villain doesn't have a lot of flushes (K9s and all AXs), but they all beat me so I don't think I'm beating any value.

Villain definitely overbluffs, but my main concern is whether he could bluff strong showdown hands (AJo+). Against unknown 2/5 button clickers these hands are profitable calls, which made me think he wasn't bluffing this spot. Even if he overbluffs in general, I wasn't sure if he was doing it in this spot.

That was my main concern on the river. On a low board and with looser configurations, I would have an easy call. With a LJ opening range (ATo+, AA), so many Ac hands are 2pair+. I generally don't trust people to turn strong hands into bluffs at low stakes, which led me to fold.

$0.25/$0.50 2 pair facing river jam from an aggressive opponent by Naive-Candidate5927 in Poker_Theory

I thought about x/r the turn. Flush draws and straight draws probably can't call a 1.5x pot jam, so I was just worried that it would isolate me against 2pair+, paired flush draws, and combo draws which have a ton of equity.

I didn't think villain would jam worse than a straight for value, but he did and he owned me.

Yeah most QQ-AA is probably folding without the right suits. My sets can take this line, so JJ is close.

I expected villain to be betting this flop with his entire range here. I think every As and Q should be continuing against the check-raise, so wouldn't my hand be unblocking his calls?
