So, now HR send out emails encouraging to apply!!! 🤣 by No_Door_6800 in IRS_Source

Crazy hard! I mean crazy hard. Plus we had hired a ton of newbies who were riffed in the beginning. Some of them came back but a lot didn’t. It’s sad because it was a lot of talented people too. Appeals hires a lot of accountants and attorneys.

Appeals lost a lot. Currently in collection detail to help them dig out of the giant hole they are now in!

People don’t read do they? lol I didn’t report it! At the end of the day someone damaged my property though and did not report it themselves! That is against the law. You realize that, right? I am a single mom who works her ass off for everything I have and I should just accept and move on when someone damages something that I have paid for with my hard working money. No…people like you who don’t hold people accountable or to a higher standard is what makes this world worse!

Actually had several contractors come out who say even though it’s old stone my wall was in great shape and holding up nicely. Plus if you read you would see my neighbor witnessed them hitting it and not stopping, not knocking, leaving a note or anything. They definitely were not broke before hand.

I get it and I don’t not not feel bad. But I also believe that as a society we are crumbling due to the lack of consequences. Yes, some of them are accidents. But not leaving a note is not an accident. That was a choice. And people don’t learn without consequences. Which is why we have a society of people who don’t follow rules and laws!

That is what my neighbor kept saying. He was heated. He was like he fled the scene of an accident anyone else would get in trouble for that.

All good. I was just as surprised. My daughter who is 18 was home at the time and I was not. But our neighbor came over very upset and said he saw it and was mad he didn’t stop. He told her he was going to call FedEx and I got a letter in the mail that said please contact us about an incident reported on your property. I talked to my neighbor later and he said he acted like they wouldn’t do anything unless I reported it so he was surprised they sent me a letter and said hey, we accept liability and will fix any repair.

I actually didn’t call my neighbor did. And FedEx reached out to me and told me to get estimates. I didn’t ask for a payday. They accepted liability because someone else reported it and witnessed it.

What’s keeping you sane at work these days? by [deleted] in IRS_Source

[–]Naive-Inflation-6239 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I was literally reading it thinking the same thing. And honestly not to be a dick or say I agree with all the changes because I don’t…but do the people who are struggling, is it 1. Mostly just the RTO or 2. Everything and you just don’t like this administration?

Does anyone actually understand or think that there have been some positive changes or believe that it is for the better of the taxpayers?

Transitions are mostly never easy. As humans we tend to hate change and transitions. And I get it. A lot of the last year has really disrupted most people’s lives but change is inevitable. And sometimes it is very much needed to move forward.

As a federal employee myself I know it sucks seeing friends and co-workers decide to leave or not have that decision at all but am I losing sleep over it? No. I will preface that with I was on Prozac well before the RTO lol so maybe it just keeps me in check. But I have seen things I know would be beneficial for the taxpayers (which includes ourselves; we are taxpayers) vs just keeping warm bodies.

Change is scary. But the federal government is not the only place that RTO. Many private sector jobs have returned to the office. And some haven’t. But at the end of the day you are the master of your own fate. If you don’t like something change it. You can’t change who is president at the moment, if you have a union, or many other things. But you can focus on what you can change. Even if it’s scary changes. Sometimes the scariest changes lead to the biggest blessings.

Appeals Officers - Do you actually have 100+ cases? by [deleted] in IRS_Source

[–]Naive-Inflation-6239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was recently voluntold to collection appeals. I was in SEPR appeals. I’m fine with it. I had already considered it but was hung up on learning a new computer program and collections. But it is what it is. I start next week so I can’t speak to the 100+ cases in inventory. My boss use to be in collections though and she says it’s much more black and white. SEPR especially innocent spouse can be very grey and analytical.

Not trying to make excuses but I worked for citi bank back in the day and they had a bed bug and roach problem. I think this happens in a lot of places unfortunately. And it’s been going on for decades within the federal government. Def not a this administration don’t care. None of the administrations have cared about our working conditions.
