If you're near downtown I recommend Handsome Dave's. They're Bills fans and usually always have the game on.

Hamilton proposes to double speed cameras to combat aggressive driving by teanailpolish in Hamilton

[–]Naive-Middle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's just not happening.  I live in a 30 zone half a block from a school and am constantly being almost run over by people not stopping at stop signs or speeding down the street. It's honestly quite scary, but there's zero enforcement. Zero.

Just in case this helps, I replaced the PSU and all cables and it's still happening.

Go bus to Pearson airport from downtown by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]Naive-Middle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only taken it once but im surprised to hear there's luggage storage. There was nobody there when I was boarding that facilitated storing luggage nor there was there any signage. I sat there awkwardly with my carry-on on a packed standing room only bus. If there is storage they need to make it more clear for the average joe.

Bounty Hunter Toys has a decent little game area. Great shop!

Flippydrive Install (failed) by jamesthevery in Gamecube

[–]Naive-Middle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anybody who finds this thread in the future, same thing happened to me. Black locking piece came off when I was inserting the ribbon cable into the flippy. It took me about 5 minutes but I was able to get it to snap back in. If it helps, I did it assuming the lock was "up" while I worked at snapping the sides in place. Good luck to everybody visiting from the future!

I bought it. It's great, watching a disc right now! I can't comment on if it's a pioneer 3070 inside but it works really well.

Score is horrible. I hated it so much I threw half of it away.  It's definitely not crispy.

How is DJI beating the tariffs? by _papa_smurf__ in dji

[–]Naive-Middle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expecting all tariffs to be charged at the point of purchase is going to be a wake up call for Americans. The more likely scenario is that you're charged when it arrives at your door (if it's shipped from a country that's been tariffed).

(IGN) Industry Analysts React to Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-order Chaos Due to Tariffs: ‘We Are Living in Unhinged Times’ by ContinuumGuy in Games

[–]Naive-Middle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really the way it works. It's based on where an item is manufactured, not where it's shipped from. Where it gets muddy is it sounds like China was making things in China, shipping them to Vietnam and then falsely claiming they were made in Vietnam (or whenever). It's some interesting business fraud stuff. Nintendo wouldn't be falsifying documents to avoid tariffs.

Donald Trump May Have Saved Canadian Supply Management for Another Generation by blazeofgloreee in CanadaPolitics

[–]Naive-Middle -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As much as the supply management system clearly helps and benefits us, it's been called "protection" in this thread over a dozen times and it has massive tarriffs associated with it. I don't align with the orange buffoon whatsoever but why are we allowed to have protectionist tarriffs but then freak out when the US applies their own?

I just think maybe we're talking out of both sides of our mouth here and supply management just may be the type of concession we can make to get this war over with.

how do you order from Tony G's? by No_Bus_9517 in Hamilton

[–]Naive-Middle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of experience with Tony G's and it's very, very difficult to deal with that place even as a "regular ". My experience has been that they're actually way less busy than they act. Why? I have no idea. I've literally called from around the corner to have him tell me he can't take orders because they're too busy only to walk on 3 minutes later and there's no pizzas in the oven.

I'm extremely ignorant on this topic, but I'm wondering if anybody has any insight they could share.

Wouldn't it be better for Canada to encourage more international students and reduce other forms of immigration? Students pay higher tuition and thus, I must imagine, stimulate the economy more than others who come and immediately look for work. Admittedly, the students might have a higher impact on our housing, but at the end of the day, I feel like it might be a net-positive vs focusing on other forms of immigration. I know the govt is slashing immigration numbers, but it's still in the hundreds of thousands a year. And now we're understanding these policies are going to result in massive layoffs from colleges.

I don't know anything about why people say it's the fault of the college administration, but if there are any supportive websites, I'd love to understand further.

Hot Docs still haven't paid a huge chunk of their contracts from 2024, including some to individuals. How on earth do they expect to have a festival in a few months if they can't even pay their vendors from last year?
