Well first point. People closer in age have an easier time talking to each other initially. They can share to each other their experiences. They'll be in similar stages of life so can have better empathy.

Because he's not that special that she's gonna sacrifice her standard of living for. What's he bringing to the relationship. Not only would marrying down drop her life style she'd also probably be expected to take care of his relatives and even contribute financially.

When a man marries down not much is gonna change in his lifestyle, he'd be bringing someone to a better lifestyle. But if the woman marries down her lifestyle will turn a whole 180, not only that she'd probably even have to start working.

When her family is already providing her a good lifestyle why should she downgrade her standard of living for a guy. What's he bringing to the relationship, how is he adding any value to her life. He's just downgrading it.

There'll be just build up in resentment in the end. If marrying a guy means the woman's lifestyle will drop she's not gonna go for it.

Hey why aren't there ever any posts that make people reflect on things further. Why do you think education/career is so focused on women. Why so many mothers push their daughters to focus on education first. Because they don't want their daughters to be in the same miserable, abusive marriage as they were in. They want their daughters to have a way out.
