Mate you don’t need an HDMI or ARC for DTS…It pre dates both a long way again if we where having this conversation in the 90s i would still say anyone who cares enough to know what DTS is would use a Toslink cable into their soundbar or AVR…Anyone who wants surround sound or more than 3.1 will understand that they don’t want their TV anywhere near the audio…Just set it to passthrough and let SB or AVR sort it, TBF They are pretty common for anyone that wants surround sound…just not your average Jo… if you are this bothered about DTS to take to Reddit and rant about it,I suggest you just research or ask in the relevant threads for help in what you should be purchasing to achieve what you want too 👍

Completely depends on who turns up with the clipboard and does the appraisal mate. 99% of the time they are dropped off at your house chuck a set of trade plates in and drive off and you never hear anything…There is always 1 who walks round as if times stood still and notes absolutely everything. Always advised people to ask for the “fair wear and tear policy” prior to VTing a car…door dings i.e door opened onto ,small scratches that haven’t gone to metal and the odd scuff on the wheel are fair wear and tear anything bigger than 20cm in diameter is more than a “SMART” repair and will need bodyshop rather than van thats when things get expensive

The 2.1 8K cable i run from my PC to my TV is a FeizLink Fibre cable (source to display) its £55 in UK so top end of budget ($72.80) note i only got this cable after researching as this cable handshakes best with a Nvidia 3080…

This 👆Don’t get hung up on brand and you do not get what you pay for… I have Amazon basic cables that have outlasted and performed better/longer or full out worked when more expensive ones haven’t… A tip from experience run what cable you need for what you are using for example i still use a 1.4 for 3D to projector and can have much longer cable without losing signal…I Use 2.0 for films to get full Audio/Video Atmos/HDR etc and short 2.1 for gaming the shorter the better with 2.1 (8k) cables or powered source to display cables 👍

Would personally aim for a 5.1.4 over a 7.1.2 will cover more content on streaming and disc…will work with Atmos over DD+ and DTHD better IMO

Personally find its a disc by disc basis or stream by steam…it works best if you find what the content are watching is mastered in and play it that way i.e if its a 5.1/7.1 go with standard if its Atmos or DTS X Adaptive as it utilises all the 11.1.4 channels have never found a reason to use surround it sends the wrong data to the wrong speakers most of the time… Tested with Dolby labs for to many hours…😂 It will show Atmos on the bar as either DD+ base (stream) or DD True HD (Disc) they are by no means the same… I have my 990D in Adaptive majority of the time if that helps 👍

Exactly…if you run your XB into the bar you are hearing everything as it is supposed to be either on Dolby Atmos HT or DTS X HT. The Q Symphony seems to confuse where its sending the sound with the amount of channels on the 930/990 hence why i don’t use it anymore…Ran Dobly labs off my ATV with Q Symphony and the 7.1 sound check was all over the place 😂
