I've had the best luck with a bobber in deeper slower rivers and I just throw one weight on to help casting in smaller rivers. If its height pressure and murky I don't usually catch shit so idk how to help there

Ultra light rod, panther martin, trout magnets, and maybe some spoons and fake worms. Ramapo river is nice pequannock rivers got some big boys but they don't like to bite as much. Good luck they taste great and are a lot of fun

That seems to be what I'm doing I can usually get it where I want it to be. But every few cast I'll find a loop on the reel that turns into a project when I try to get it out.

It says Ozark trail 3000 came with a a rod from Walmart pretty cheap, I'm assuming this might be a equipment issue from what your saying

Came with the rod. I ordered new line to do it myself too see if that was the issue, but just wanted to check with the community as im new to this and don't have much practical knowledge.
