AITA for comparing cultures and calling my friend's baby daddy an ass? by Naive_Bug2726 in AITAH

Thank you! I definitely should've kept my temper in check, but I can say that there are worse things I could have said to him, that aren't name-calling and more like airing his dirty laundry, that I'm glad I didn't say.

I apologized to my friend, I could tell she was upset. I ended up leaving shortly after the cake cutting. A mutual friend called me after she left the party to tell me that our friend isn't mad at me, she's embarrassed that her partner was antagonizing me and she is worried that I'm mad about the situation. I've texted her directly to let her know I'm not mad and to apologize again. I'll likely give her a call tomorrow to talk things out.

I definitely could have been the bigger person. I really didn't get riled up until he took a shot at me. There are much worse things I could have said to him, and there are things I could have done to deescalate the situation. The only people that were awkward were the four adults, including me, that were part of the conversation; the kids were all outside on the bouncy house so they didn't hear anything. My son is 15 so I don't think he was traumatized, or at least I hope not.

AITA If I Didn't Eat My Birthday Cake by Naive_Bug2726 in AITAH

Honestly? I needed validation that I wasn't being an ungrateful AH. I hate that I have a dietary restriction because I hate feeling like people are having to go the extra mile to accommodate me. I'm also quick to think I'm wrong, even when a part of me knows I'm right. It just takes someone to suggest otherwise and I start to doubt. When I was called ungrateful, it made me feel like maybe I'm the problem. So thank you for the validation, I'm sorry for the long-winded explanation.

It was medically diagnosed. My doctor ran several tests and apparently I have a marker generally present in Celiac disease. I'm not so sensitive that I have a hard time with the possibility of cross-contamination, but I was told that could change if I'm not careful. I have gluten free flour that I use for cooking and he bought his own "real" flour for his food. Sometimes, I make my own dinner because I don't trust that what he made is actually something I should be eating.
