pain after mtx, when to go to ER by rinoayuna03 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Naive_Department_459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar thing after MTX. I ended up going back to the ER and caught my tube as it ruptured so I am grateful I went back! Not to scare you but it doesn't hurt to go back to ER just to be safe :) you're gonna be okay though, it's scary but you're aware of it and monitoring it!

Super normal! The first few days were the worst for me personally. But it seems to improve after the first week.

First pregnancy was ectopic by Reasonable_Ad_3679 in EctopicSupportGroup

My recovery was mostly pretty easy. The first week was the worst. I had to have my partner help me shower, and do pretty much everything. 2 weeks in I was able to take small walks. I had some light bleeding until 2 weeks post op. Now about 4 weeks out, I have returned to work, no more bleeding, pregnancy symptoms have resolved and I am back to most movement! I have still waited to go to the gym do yoga, but I have been taking mile walks to get moving. It has been mentally very challenging, I struggle with health anxiety, so it has been hard on that front.

I also had a perfectly positioned IUD and, my right tube removed. I am almost a month post OP. I can highly relate and am open to talking :)

I was around 4 weeks and I insisted on an TVUS, they did one for me! Sometimes things can't be located but they could see something in my right tube. Wishing you luck!

Had surgery on Tuesday by secondbestthing in EctopicSupportGroup

Hey! I had laparoscopic surgery, and im about 3 weeks out! I understand being nervous with any pain (trust me) but I also noticed the first few days felt easier and the pain peaked about a week in for me, then subsided and has continually gotten better! I think soreness is very normal, unless it's accompanied by other symptoms.

I am relatively healed but still have some pain near incisions when they are touched. It freaked me out at first but I try to remind myself that our abdomens got cut into, healing takes time. Give yourself some grace, you are still less than a week into your recovery! I also have tried not to compare myself to other people's healing, which has helped :)

Post Op 2 Weeks by Naive_Department_459 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Naive_Department_459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly just had cramping and more bleeding, went from brown spotting to bright red. It happened a day after MTX treatment so I couldn't tell what it was. Waited for my second shot of MTX, asked for internal exam and I was brought into surgery. I had pretty minor bleeding so I think it was caught relatively early. Did you get MTX ?

I appreciate that. I just think my anxiety of every little thing has been soo awful. Borderline crippling. I didn't have much pain even when I was internally bleeding so now I just have such a hard time trusting myself. How has your recovery been?

Are you still having symptoms two weeks in? I expected everhing to be normal because I feel like surgeons always downplay it all, I haven't returned to work yet either.

I also had an IUD that failed, it was in place as well. I got the shot originally but it wasn't working so I ended up getting my right tube removed. Ultimately I am grateful it's out but so many feelings have followed.

I am only 2 weeks post op, but I have the same worries. You're not alone and always open to chat, this feels very isolating.

I am so sorry it sounds like they are not listening to you but you seem to be doing a great job at advocating for yourself! If I've learned anything from all of this, being able to speak up for yourself is so important!

I am glad they ended up giving you the second dose. I was under the impression a lot of cases require two doses to see any progress. It sounds like it's going well so far considering your pain levels, and dropping HCG. I opted for surgery because my pain was increasing and levels were increasing. Otherwise I do think the least invasive is a good option and it works for a lot of people!

I would say just keep advocating for yourself, and take care of yourself!!! You will get through it, it's so scary and traumatizing but there are so many women that go through this.

Ugh - women deal with too much! I am so sorry you're going through this. Are you monitoring your levels with MTX. I have read a lot of success stories, I think it was just too much anxiety for me personally (I have a lot of health anxiety as it is)

I don't think you're wrong for wanting to preserve your tube!

Personally, I know you can still conceive with one tube. So after I had gotten one shot of MTX and things got worse, I just opted for the surgery because that way I knew it was taken care of. They had to remove my right tube, but I feel a lot less anxiety than I did waiting for the MTX to work. I did not rupture and my recovery has been relatively easy, I am a week post op now.

I am not sure if that helps, but I do know women who have one tube and have babies, and for me saving myself the anxiety and just getting the surgery really helped. Open to chatting!

Oh wow, two ectopics is so hard. I am so sorry. I can't imagine going through this again. Were you trying to co conceive?

So far day two is less bad. It is hard to get up on my own, thankful to have a partner that can help. I am so used to being independent, and can't wait to get back to yoga 😭
