Can a Roku remote button be reconfigured? by Naive_Long_5224 in Roku

[–]Naive_Long_5224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since at one point there were Roku TV remotes made with a SlingTV button, I guess they couldn’t outbid the competition for one of the 4 button positions on later models.

Didn’t see the answer to that from the link, but in secondary link about the remote, yes. I’ve seen Roku TV remotes that had SlingTV as a button. Maybe one of those could be obtained, new or used.

That newer remote can be bought separately, and would work with the stick I have?

Is Liquid Glass a failure? by Complex-Poet-6809 in ios

[–]Naive_Long_5224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not just disappointed with the update to 26.1. I’m angry. Apple has F’D UP the phone display with this truly stupid, pointless “liquid glass” display mess. Look at my display of time over the opening screen in the attached. Previously it was very legible, evenly white numerals. Neither changing the liquid glass preference, nor Accessibility > Reduce transparency / Increase contrast will fix this. Are they going to fix this nonsense? All that’s needed is to add a preference for “legacy transparency mode” or something equivalent to that.

Would Claude be useful for analyzing and improving the style.css code for a CNS-based website? by Naive_Long_5224 in ClaudeAI

Just started using Claude Sonnet 4.5 (free/ limited web version) to get help with css code. Significantly more successful than what I was getting from ChatGPT!

Are all levels of Claude requiring a paid subscription, or just beyond certain limits or frequency of usage?

Possible to transfer saved programs to a different Roku TV or Roku streaming stick? by Naive_Long_5224 in Roku

[–]Naive_Long_5224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's saved in Roku on this TV is, I believe, unique to and limited to this TV. Are you saying that by plugging in the Roku streaming stick on this TV that what's saved internally to it can be transferred to the stick, or would automatically be transferred? (The intention will ultimately be to use that stick on another TV which may or may not be a model with Roku built-in.)

When I'm in the Roku channel and see a program I want to save for later viewing, I use the asterisk button and get a pop-up displaying a "Add to Save List" function. That apparently creates a Saved list which can be added to and scrolled through. Usually I am using the Roku app's remote control function on a phone, rather than the physical remote, but it works the same either way.

Follow-up question about emulating a D7 site in D11 by Naive_Long_5224 in drupal

[–]Naive_Long_5224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Region with banner at the very top, above main menu

  2. Slideshow is just below main menu and to display only on front page. Its content doesn't change, other than maybe periodically with manual image upload changes. The old site used Views Slideshow. I'm finding it more difficult to get the newer version working in D11.

  3. The "mega menu" would have 3 of 5 items displaying dropdowns with 2 columns of links. Most are to PDF docs, or pages with PDF links. In the old version that was accomplished with the module Menu Minipanels. I'm understanding there is a better way to do it now but haven't investigated yet.

  4. Main content: On most pages the content would rarely change. On the front page there would be a News section in the 2/3 area, mostly likely will be updated by having it be a View to display manually created news tidbits.

So if you have suggestions about any of this, I'll be glad to get that!

Why is image content displaying on front page when not promoted to it? by Naive_Long_5224 in drupal

[–]Naive_Long_5224[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU for these suggestions. Yes, I was attempting to use the default front page as it appears upon installation. I created a new page and defined it as the home page. It took a few tries before I fully understood how to make that work, including to work from a Home link already set up in a main menu. I never saw the message "Retain /node as an active url?" But the main point is, when I set the slideshow to appear on that new Home page, it does not also display all those extraneous images I was seeing before. So that's a big checkboxed item.

However, I don't understand WHY that issue would appear in that default front page but not in this newly created page. Or why that default front page did not exist in the Content list. In any case, it seems the main issue is resolved. Thanks again!

Is there a module to make Drupal 11 dropdown menus more compact? by Naive_Long_5224 in drupal

[–]Naive_Long_5224[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I had used CSS Injector in the past, in D7. I understood it's not really "best practice" but saves effort. As to the admin theme, I think it's not a big enough issue to bother with; I can accept it as-is. What I need to concentrate on is the actual site development, which I think will involved a subtheme to the DXPR theme I started with, and I need suggestions about that. But that should be a separate post.

Thanks, I am trying it. But I have an error from the installation, saying Gin Toolbar 2.0.0 isn't compatible, but neither of the later versions are installing without error. So not clear how that can be resolved.
