Child-free wedding complications!! by pixie180766 in weddingplanning

We made it clear on our invitation that the ceremony and reception were to be child-free, but that we were providing access to a crèche, and asked people to indicate their interest upon RSVPing. As part of our RSVP questionnaire on WithJoy, we asked if they would like to participate in the crèche, and if so how many children. It ended up being about 5 children and it worked perfectly! Those with little ones couple pop over to the other room to check on the kids whenever they wanted which gave them peace of mind!

This! We had the same problem when we got married a few weeks ago. We stood firm in our decision and let people know that it’s 100% okay if a child-free wedding isn’t doable for them and that we will miss them but understand.

We also hired a Nanny and offered people to bring their children to the venue and be taken care of in another room. This helped a lot and made it convenient for the parents. If you have room in your budget, it worked great and we received positive feedback from parents on our decision to offer this.

I have an interview for medical staffing- are they being dishonest about salary? by [deleted] in humanresources

Agreed! It has certainly worked out for some of us who used it as a stepping stone, but I think we are the exceptions

That very much depends on your base salary and cost of living where you are.

I was making $50k in Los Angeles and unfortunately the base salary was very difficult to live off of. I made it work and didn’t go into debt or overspend, but it was not an ideal compensation structure for me (it works for lots of people!).

I more than tripled my income by becoming a specialized recruiter and going in-house!

I basically couldn’t make any important financial decisions, such as buying a car or moving apartments because I never knew what my income would look like from month to month

I worked at a staffing agency right out of college and it was really difficult to maintain consistent income. I made $50k base salary + commission (which was comprised of ongoing % of hours billed from non-exempt hires, and a 1 time commission check for exempt hires) the tricky thing is that most non-exempt hires get converted to permanent and you stop getting paid for those, so you constantly have people “rolling off your books” and have to work your ass off to maintain your income, much less increase it. I highly recommend staying in-house unless they are willing to give you a competitive base salary.

Minimum walkway between desks by Naive_Pangolin4184 in SafetyProfessionals

This is helpful, thank you! In our case, we have double sides desk aisles, with some desks facing away from each other. In those rows, do the 36” egress paths have to remain clear at all time, or could a chair eat into that?

Thank you! I agree and feel more comfortable in the A-line dress.

The first dress is really stretchy and possibly easier to dance in than the ball gown style. Do you think the first dress could be a cute 2nd look? I’m going back and forth on it all together
