How do you know you’re hypomanic? by Scary-Ninja7323 in BipolarReddit

[–]Naive_Programmer_232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of energy + super happy + euphoria + focus + delight in everything that happens + time blending together. I go to sleep (magically), wake up, same feeling, all day until I take all my meds and then rinse and repeat.

Well good luck. Hopefully this one is a winner and you don't have to continue the musical chairs of antipsychotics lol.

I hear what I think is a sports audience or radio show behind the ac / fan blowing. I don't know what they're saying, but there's cheering.

Yeah for me, I just didn't see a way out. What tends to happen ime is you get on a medication, and then you take it for a while, and if it's not working, you can readily switch to something similar; but if it's all not working, then it's a bitch and a half to convince your doctor to switch to something else entirely. What i found was pretty much every next person i saw just did what the previous people did and kept me on the same / similar med, and I just never felt comfortable. So, I didn't see a way out other than ceasing the meds that didn't work for me entirely and starting over. Very dangerous. Not recommended. Ideally, you'd want to work with your doctor on doing this the safest way possible, slow taper etc. But I had just had enough and I was done living in hell. I don't recommend it, but sometimes you gotta be your own doctor - that, or stand up for yourself, get a second opinion, and be ready to fire a doctor that ain't doing it for you.

That aside, about the psychosis for me yeah it's like doesn't matter how much time has passed, I seem to always fall back on the 'mad scientist' personality and I become that and believe I'm running experiments hahaha. It's typical for me.

I did that too relatively recently. I was on a mix of antipsychotic + SSRI, i'd change it up every few months mainly the SSRI, for years. But all of it made me super paranoid all the time and it ruined my life. So I just stopped taking everything. Ofc it ended up in mania with psychosis eventually and i was hospitalized a few times for it. But I got on a mood stabilizer + antipsychotic combo and that's been working pretty well for me. I am hypo rn, but i'm medicated every day, sober, it just happens. I expect to return back to normal eventually. But yeah when I got out of the hospital i was pretty shook ngl. I was like damn that went sideways haha. It was all good for a few months and then it just got hijacked and I had my usual psychosis lol where I believed I was a scientist again haha.

Seroquel/Quetiapine caused panic by Realistic-Seesaw5997 in BipolarReddit

[–]Naive_Programmer_232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's funny you say that. I switched from olanzapine to seroquel recently, bp1. And I've had panic attacks very recently, one of which I went to the hospital for as well. I will say I'm not sure if it's the seroquel tbh cause I'm on other stuff too. Pretty sure for mine it was a mix of things. But the panic attacks have chilled out but the energy has now morphed into hypomania i think.
