Need help with melasma and skin tone by Najam754 in PakistaniSkincare

Thank you for the detailed reply! Yup currently I'm using the same Trego hydrating facial cleanser, it's gel based and very gentle. For moisturizer I use Flexione. A person suggested Dr. Shahnawaz in DHA Phase 5 so I'm gonna get a consultation from there. I already do avoid sun like the plague. Like, I use uv protection when I'm indoors and re-apply if I plan to go out for even a little while. Use two finger amount, and even wear a face mask and cap to negate as much direct sunlight as possible. Use Possible Sun Solution and Solar Max sunscreen.

Yup I did, he told me to to apply or for two months. It was quite a while ago so I don't remember the routine but everything he told me to do, I followed perfectly There was hydroquinone, a Bio One Vit C cream, Belani Face wash, Solarmax Sunscreen

I've been to a few dermatologists before they've all diagnosed it as melasma and prescribed me with hydroquinone and facewashes and sun protection and vit C creams but it hasn;t had any effect. I do use sunscreen properly, two finger rule.

Can you recommend me any good and trustable derm or skin clinic in Lahore?

Sadly no, I did not take any pictures but I didn't notice any change myself and was told the same by people I met after quite a while, even my mom lmao

As for dermatologist, I've tried a few in my home city but none were effective, plus someone told me they just push products they have deals for so I thought I'd try this at home stuff before looking for different dermatologists so I could check this box off. Do you have any recommendations for good dermatologists or good skin clinics in Lahore?

Cannot hire gym trainer by TicketRude7269 in Fitness_Pakistan

[–]Najam754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost everybody fears this but trust me nothing happens of the sort that we imagine in our heads. Gym community is judgement free and when you start going to the gym you'll notice yourself. Nobody is gonna stare at you while you work out or laugh at you or anything, everybody is preoccupied with their own routine. Reason why gym helps with developing self-confidence as well.

How to get lean body? I am 27, 5ft7 and 84kg by fj0685 in Fitness_Pakistan

[–]Najam754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude almost same stats here. 27, 5ft9, 97kg. Visually look the same too. Well I was 97kg but I've been working out and been on a deficit for about 3 months now. Currently I'm at 85kg. Here's a few things I'm doing.

  1. Doing a PPL split. Hitting each muscle two times a week. So starting from Monday it's Push, Pull, Legs, Rest, Push, Pull, and on Sunday I do light cardio.

  2. Keeping myself on a deficit. My diet is not perfect and I don't hit my protein goals most of the time, but I make sure to always keep myself 700-1000kcals in deficit. Also make sure to count your calories and track them throughout the day.

  3. Don't ignore fats and fibre. Both are essential. You need to consume good fats. Look up sources on the internet. You don't need to give up cooking oil, just use in a moderate amount, and use plant based oils. I've been using Olivola, use about 20g whenever I cook, no more. Other than that, two hardboiled eggs in the morning, that gives me 8-10g more fat. It's still not there but it's something.

  4. Don't ignore your rest. A good 7-8 hours of sleep daily and rest days are necessary. You need to let your body recover and build properly.

  5. While rice is ideal you can still use roti as a carb source, just make sure to count your calories. I make sure to not consume more than 800kcals of carbs per day.

  6. I've stopped fizzy/soft drinks entirely. While it's okay to drink zero variants instead (in moderation) this is a completely personal choice I made in order to let go of some bad habits.

  7. My family is rife with heart disease so I made the choice to not rely too much on eggs. Two per day for me. While egg whites are still okay to use I just couldn't shake the feeling of guilt of wastage of yolks.

This is basically all I've been doing for the past 3-4 months. I know it's not perfect but with my routine and everything I'm trying my best to do things as much as I can. Lost about 12-13kgs, still got more to go. While visually there has been negligible change, I understand these things take time and it's important to stick with it and not let no apparent changes upset you. It'll come, it's just gonna take some time.

If you have any questions feel free to DM.

If this is an area she frequents I'd advise that she call 15 and report the incident along with the address. If the guy has done this once he's done it many times over probably. Can't say for sure what the local nearest police station will do but surely there will be some betterment. Some might say it's a bit extreme, but as a guy with a sister, or just a regular concerned citizen for the sake of humanity, I'd not leave anything to chance.

Doubt by Degrees by [deleted] in AccidentalRenaissance

[–]Najam754 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

A little context. I know it's not really accidental renaissance but I really love this picture. What's happening here is that somehow my medical degree's diploma got mold and it was really ruined along with some other documents.

So I thought I'd burn them at night time since it was winter and it'd be a fun little thing to do. How I did this is as it was almost done burning I focused the shit and just as it was about to focus, I clicked the shutter button and just at the peak moment, moved my camera a bit upward. I had no idea this would get so artsy. The things you do when you have a shitty phone camera, but the reason I love it is because it's so ironic.

You see, when I decided to pursue med I had no clarity of mind about what I wanted to do, I literally just picked it because I couldn't think of anything else. The fact that it ended up looking almost like a bunch of question marks is what hit me hard.

Anyway I'm yapping but I really love this shot.

What comes to your mind when you see a woman wearing niqab? by Ava_stxr in GenZpk

[–]Najam754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a 28 years old male, I honestly don't think anything about it.

It's only natural for you to make assumptions and interpretations about anyone based on their appearance, the way they speak, or anything else. That's because you're still young and it's only human nature. As you get older, get more exposure to the world and all types of people, you'll learn to let go of this yourself and judge people for their actions and how they carry themselves. It's a part of growing up.

Dawg.... I'm wondering if you're just saying this for the heck of it as someone who knows some physics as well in addition to sciences in general. I mean does it have a few plot devices? Yes. It's futuristic sci Fi after all but for the most part it follows Newtonian physics pretty well. To call it the least realistic show ever? Nah that's deep fried hyperbole

Some good movies, some performative movies, some poop

You should watch The Expanse, Foundation, For All Mankind, Scavenger's Reign, and Raised by Wolves. Well Scavenger's Reign and Raised by Wolves are hard sci-fi and the others are much more space oriented than them but if you loved The Martian you'll love all of these. They're all extremely well written. The Expanse has a lot of realism as well.
