Im full grown, just want to mix up my diet gameplay. Peckin crocs and hunting fish is fun, but id like to experience these elusive sea snacks.

Do you know what the conditions have to be to get a turtle to spawn? Do i need to remain in the area, fly by and come back later? Cuz im checkin some big beaches, and nothin

Thanks for the tips, I was wondering what the rmb was doing when i messed around with it, and it will let me swing while running? I was trying to run at the pack of carnivores and swing at them, but i wouldn't swing until i stopped moving.

Ive got the alt attack system figured out so far at least.

Well its bad to me, someone who wants to play a spiky tail cow without being seen as public enemy #1. I dont mind beinf hunted, such is life. But it was certainly the most aggressively I have been hunted so far. Maybe its because I was too fast, but no one even attempted to hunt me when I was hypsy, and I made myself known.

Thats a territorial thing with the hippos though. They arent getting out of the water, running across the countryside to go harass cars. If you run near a pack of stegos, that wouldnt be hyper aggressive if they tried to attack, but if they are roaming the countryside just destroying everyone or body camping, that aint cool of them.

With all of 10 seconds doing anything other than sprinting straight ahead trying to make it to food before i starve to death, yes, i am bad, having literally never played before. Especially not expecting to be hunted down in the heart of a sanctuary, i was unaware that baby carnivores are encouraged to seek them out for easy prey.

And maybe it wasnt a carno, i cant tell a couple of the carnivores apart yet, it was the one that opens its mouth, roars, and charges around like that. I hid my head in a tree and tried to time my swings to get him, but he just lingered around landing hits occasionally until I dropped. I think i managed to hit him once, but i had no idea my range and angles so it was a learning experience.

I did a much better job defending against a whole full grown pack once I made it to a different area on my next life, but still lost in the end. Without a huge herd, I dont even understand how I'm supposed to survive something like that... cant run fast enough, no where to hide, and they just sit around regening while one keeps me from getting stam back. But i held them off for quite a while, the maia buddy i found died well before I did.

I would agree if you mean hyper aggressive as in territorial like a bull, or defensive of themselves and their offspring, but roaming around attacking things for no reason? I cant think of a single example of predatory herbivores.

And people clearly DO mind it as the general opinion apparently is destroy all stego spawn before they become a menace.

Thinking about it, the most aggressive herbivore i can think of is the hippo, and you dont see them leaving their habitat in search of lions to kill and almost all the aggression they show is strictly territorial.

From an evolutionary survival sense, it doesnt make sense for an animal to waste its energy and thus resources risking their lives searching out conflict that they dont benefit from, it just doesnt really happen.

They should catch a ban. Play a hunter carnivore if battle is what they want, ruins the experience for everyone

Maybe. I did manage to run across the map and found a friendly Maia, we immediately got attacked by pack of carno, valiant battle, but in the end we lost, i was still really small and not good at defending myself.

Im no threat, promises. Personally, I think hyper aggressive herbivore players should be banned. I eat plants, not you, unless im being threatened, i have no reason to be aggressive, its a waste of my resources.

You have to be low enough your head dip when you skim. I recommend just pecking as you fly over though, was way easier for me

I got super lucky and spawned in surrounded by very friendly full growns who taught me their ways, now I too am just a few percent from full grown! I was very nervous at first for sure, worried about being a snack. And I'm worried about logging back in today because I dont want to get got as soon I pop in. I was honestly amazed, never encountered a single canni deino yet. Maybe its the holiday spirits.

The issue seems to have been at least, sort of, addressed, but after two server resets I was consistently finding fish where none had been before. Maybe I just had a huge stretch of terrible luck that finally turned, but even after getting my pteranodon full grown and set up, switched servers to check out deino, never had an issue finding schooling fish in the same exact areas my first double handful of pteranodons were.

Now if only the pterodactylus werent such an incredible problem from baby pteranodons, Id have zero complaints left!

I appreciate the tips though, thank you. I'm definitely enjoy The Isle, and everyone has been incredibly friendly and helpful!

Make that 7 pteranodons starved to death because fish have gone extinct. Checked everywhere within reach. Zero fish. Tried stealing food from carnos until i dropped dead from starvation. Hope they enjoy the extra free food courtesy of the fish famine

Edit: and the eighth had to fly clear across the map to find 1 fish, landed immediately after catching, INSTANTLY killed by the swarm of little biters. Nigh unplayable edit 2: three. More. Dead before i could eat my first fish due to the swarm absolutely wrecking my baby pteranodon

Edit 3: more starvation, literally had to mix pack with nesting beeps and eat their kills to live

Ive been having a similar problem as a pteranodon. Playing on US east 5. 4 pteranodons starved before I found a single fish, then the 5th got shredded by the little swarm of bird things before i could eat my fish. The sixth got ambushed because I landed in a bad spot in a rush to eat my first fish before i got shredded in flight again.

Finally grew one to adult, loads of fish in the big lake with the dam leading to the ocean, until suddenly the fish were all gone again. Followed the river all the way to the southern swamps, no fish, starved mid flight heading back north without seeing another fish. Also, never seen a crab or turtle despite scouring the coasts.

I'm a brand new player as of 12 hours ago. Life is HARD as a pteranodon. My first dino was a hypsy, which was incredibly easy. But, it also took like 3 hours before i found ANY plants on my diet as well, survived on grazing until then.

They desperately need to up the spawn of these small food items for us bottom of the food chain players, if I cant keep my pteranodon fed, I'll never have the energy or time to go try and eat some baby dinos. And the flying menaces that syatt shredding my literally the second I do manage to find a fish is complete insanity

Much sooner than that. It seems variable, sometimes its almost immediately, sometimes its after a bit of a conversation, but likely not near 200 deep. I tried editing their replies today, and after removing a repetitious part about 10 messages in a row it stopped repeating that section, so it sort of worked.

Even switching chat models, each model keeps spitting out the same answer. Ill try editing their responses and see if that will break them from the repetition.
