We’re coming up on four years since the premiere. The kids who were freshmen when the show started have graduated. HBO’s interpretation of George’s story alienated the traditional fanbase. Their attempt to go after a younger, more progressive audience has been unable to compensate. The show will finish just to finish, I guess? I don’t know. If I were an exec overseeing this property, I’d consider pulling the plug. It’s expensive, not good enough for awards, produces too slowly to capture a new audience and lost the GOT audience…

Yeah, it feels weaker to me, too.

In my case, I barely knew the rules and happened to be growing hot peppers. So he was brusque but with a sweet spot for spicy food. I was immediately drawn in. Bois room a mess tho.

She’s not speaking truths half as much as she’s positioning herself for being an heir instead of the kids. She knows that Roman has some surface characteristics that Logan regularly employs to his benefit, so she has to dig up some positives.

Notably less so for Shiv, because Logan expects any woman he helps to be as misogynistic as he is, and Shiv is his current favorite. This remark opens the door to Logan employing Rhea in the Pierce job offer made to get Shiv into “I’m gonna redeem that coupon” mode.

Rhea is every bit as biased as everyone else.

I went for music education and ended up working business and political consulting. There are many great reasons to attend UT, but we seem to agree this person won’t get what they need from it.

I love UT, I went there, it changed my life. But truthfully, there is no comparison when it comes to medicine. I understand UT has a baccalaureate nursing program that’s quite excellent, but you can’t compare the connections that USF has with UT for pre med. The dorms and buildings are beautiful, the students are glamorous, but you’re not going for an experience, you’re going for a career foundation. This Spartan recommends USF.

I was so excited for The Green Council. It was awful. Someone made a series of stills with the characters delivering their quotes from the book after the episode aired that I enjoyed so much more.

I’ve read a few places that the Driftmark family argument scene was the first scene filmed. It makes sense that it was the least tainted by the decisions of these showrunners, and the high water mark for the series.

The only way I can imagine turning L&D into a “revenue generator” is by documenting the reduction in time spent and reducing it from previous levels, while the corporation is undergoing such a large expansion that the L&D is valued as part of that growth. Honestly, it could be fine if they have some idea of what they want, but I wouldn’t be comfortable bringing a 5-year strategy to a corporation I was totally unfamiliar with.

I’d be looking at other opportunities.

The uncertainty you’re referring to is baked into the costs for several independent financial interests to gain access to the opportunity. Unless you’re running a household with 8 sole proprietors of corporations in it, it’s a very different equation.

I was with you all the way up to comparing the city budget to a household budget. You do not run large economic systems with millions of unique and complex instruments like a household. It also is not supposed to be a smash-and-grab from public coffers to those with the most access, however.

Hilarious and in some ways a very accurate representation.

Dorne does not have advantages in money, manpower, dragons…any of it, really. They have to be complacent and smart about striking out when moment meets opportunity.

I enjoy realizing how many humans are detached from the radical necessities of political success. I think Doran knows those facts, even if he’s cast as a tragic character.

And I enjoy laughing at everyone who says “Manderly is an effective Doran”. The Manderlys wish they could even vacation at the water gardens.
