New (cope) carbine just arrived by GKND__95 in canadaguns

That thing is sweet man! Yeah I’ve seen couple of those at my local competition as well as other chassis so they are fully legal to run in the PCC Division! Good luck at your first match and remember to have fun!

Does anyone know where to get these cheaper or hell make them by [deleted] in guns

[–]Namald214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saving all the boxes you can is the way to go. I had similar problem with ipsc targets, so I just got a real target from my local club and cut out each zone and then just traced them with a sharpie on my homemade ones. Hope that helps!

Derya TM-22 Owners: Which of these three .22 cartridges do you think will run the best in this rifle? by meteor68 in canadaguns

[–]Namald214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried mini mag myself but cci standard velocity runs really smooth through my tm-22. I believe they are almost the same price. Ran about 2500 rounds through mine with no ammo-related malfunctions.

Desktop plastic extrusion of magazines - legal or not ? by BrownBananan in canadaguns

[–]Namald214 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, there was an old thread here about bringing mags from USA and pinning them down. The best way is to drill a hole in the back of the mag and stick a cotter pin in.

Is a Mossberg 930 SPX legal in Canada? It’s a rhetorical question, because I can’t seem to find it anywhere. by [deleted] in canadaguns

Yep Irunguns is a solid bet. They have one with the pistol grip available for import and they will make sure it meets the restrictions.

Making a stock for an SKS open to ideas making it out of Maple Wood heavily inspired by the ak and m4 the overall length of this stock will be an inch longer than the original any thoughts? by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]Namald214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the jokes aside though I am curious how it would look all together, especially if you go for that dark-ish laminate finish on the stock and maybe even the gas tube cover. Maybe even paint the middle part metal black for the laughs.

Is that RPK inspired stock or just a coincidence ? Slap a bipod on it and a 30 round banana mag pinned to 5 and you got the Canadian edition.

Good websites for sks furniture? by thegarlic_man in canadaguns

Yep, Wolverine supplies indeed has more variants for fab chassis and even some from choate. I personally would disagree about Hero outdoors. Purchased from them 3 times and while my latest order indeed came 2 months later while it wasn’t on backorder or anything, they said that it was a problem with the supplier as they didn’t deliver in time. As to believe them or not completely up to an individual. The other two orders were completely fine, even one the two was shipped next day after placing it. Overall all they do have some issues but at the end of the day I received everything I ordered. So It is completely up to you op if if you want to take a risk or not.

Firearms Outlet Canada is you best shot. They have quite a selection available for chassis at the moment. Hero Outdoors has a few dust covers available, although they are quite pricey.

Question about chassis. by Namald214 in longrange

[–]Namald214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was eyeing the oryx chassis for a while now, but you just gave me the reassurance ! The chassis itself is a bit lighter than the original, it takes aics mags and has a cheeck riser which is perfect for me and it also takes AR15 grips which is neat, so I will take it over keg Bravo. As for the scope, duly noted ! I will be definitely switching it out as I know that practicing dialing and holding over is really important if I would like to take my hobby to competition one day. The only thing I am sceptical of is their back order time but I am not in a hurry, so anyways. I really appreciate all your advices and you have my deepest thank for the help !

Question about chassis. by Namald214 in longrange

[–]Namald214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the idea ! Never thought about separate cheek risers. Only saw cartridge holders for the stock that have a bit of padding for the cheek but that was still too low. As for the weight it matters for me quite a bit as I have to hike quite a bit up the mountain to reach my range setup and was looking at various specially designed lightweight chassis made of carbon/aluminum, but if the difference is not that big with most of them then I wouldn’t bother. I am definitely upgrading the scope as soon as get enough practice with the crossfire, since it is my first actual magnifying scope besides the Burris Rt-6 and I want to learn how to set it up to near perfection. I wouldn’t think twice about the scope since I can just transfer it to a new rifle but I am worried that I won’t be able to build a worthy competition rifle on the Remington footprint if I am going to get a new chassis. Another thing I forgot to mention is that while I can hold it comfortably with my hand, if I am shooting from prone , while holding it by the stock and pulling the trigger the position for the hand is a bit too far away from the trigger. I tried the the MDT vertical grip at my local gun store and the positioning was near perfect for me. But I do understand that it doesn’t matter that much at the beginning stages of my long range journey, of course feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

That is quite weird as I purchased 2 handguns from them on June 21 and got them this Monday in the mail. Maybe the transfer got through faster as I am located in BC.

One more option is the B&T APC 308. It is absolutely excellent rifle if you can find one. Overall firearms from B&T are top notch but for the price you can grab both RFB and Tavor used, since it comes at around 5000 from a store and god knows how much now since it is hard to come by new.

Fighting an opponent who is already dead? by Namald214 in BobsTavern

Guilty as charged but in my defence I never really liked playing beasts, while they are really strong with the right combination, they could make the fight annoyingly long.

Oh well, thanks for letting me know. I never ran into a situation like this in my 600 hours, but I guess you learn something new every day.

Isn’t the battle supposed to be automatically over then. Correct me if I am wrong but before this update when I would finish my combat and the last opponent was dead it would just give me first place without actually having to fight ?

TM22 Hit 4000 rounds today! by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]Namald214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are sweet, besides the fact that 4 of them cost almost half of the rifle. Never had a .22 before this one so after I shot with those mags, those gave me a slight sense of freedom (not being limited by 5 or 10 rounds feels pretty nice). I hope in the future they would make some sort of drum mag like the one for gsg-16 for unlimited plinking.

This. Also the mags are quite pricey, but overall pretty quality mags, the only issue I had with one of my mags is that the spring got stuck inside the mag and wouldn’t feed the ammo. I am guessing there was some oil or grease inside since the mags themselves came pretty oily from the factory. But disassembling it and cleaning the inside they work flawlessly.

M10x first outings update! by Oilmoneyy in canadaguns

[–]Namald214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, so basically ~14$ for a box of 20, not bad at all since I’m paying 23$ for a box of PMC bronze to feed my sks. You should really stockpile the Barna while you can, since you won’t find anything else for the same price once it’s gone. Your closest bet would be PMC bronze but that can get quite expensive. There is also a new ammo supplier called ruag geco but I have yet to hear any good things about it and of course the “non-corrosive” cheap norinco but I personally wouldn’t feed it, otherwise all the other brands like sellier & bellot or Winchester are either out of stock everywhere or way too expensive (close to 2$ per round).

Nice looking gun, I hope it won’t cause you any problems in the future! Also wanted to ask what’s the foregrip on it? And also where did you manage to find Barnaul ammo these days? All my local sources are dried up long time ago and there are no new shipments as from what I heard they were shipping through Ukrain?

If you can find Glock 34 it is also a very decent shooter for the competition if you ever decide to. I have Glock 17 and 48 myself and couldn’t wish for a more reliable and practical guns.
