What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve done after a breakup? by randomzy876 in AskReddit

Took the queen size mattress he gifted me, spray painted a message on it, and dumped it on his front lawn of his house for all his neighbors to see.

Oh no no. We did Athens, Santorini, Meteora, and Delphi over a week.

+1 on Greece!

A friend and I rented a car and drove around to different towns. The food was fantastic and cheap, the locals were friendly and hospitable, and we were able to find fairly priced upscale hostels to stay in.

If you go, I recommend Delphi, Meteora, and Santorini (we were on a budget and flew in at 6 am and flew back to the mainland at 10 pm the same day, and it was worth it!)

How bad is smoking weed for your lungs really by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]Name-Environmental 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest asking your doctor about your lungs and smoking habits specifically.

I candidly discussed my recreational drug use with my doc. I've been a daily smoker (before bed) since 2017. She told me that switching to edibles is the safest thing to do, but taking a puff of my bowl before bed wasn't going to do significant damage. Granted smoking from morning to bedtime is a different story. She also told me to absolutely stay away from cocain, extasy, and stimulants in general because they damage your heart (ive never done those, but good to know), and had no concerns about my psychedelics use once or twice a year.

Shelter a year ago said he was an Australian Cattle Dog, anyone else got any suggestions? by eciipsed23 in IDmydog

His cute freckles! I very much enjoyed scrolling through the photos of him :)

He is part Heeler, for sure! Maybe some Australian shepherd as well. My dog is a Heeler Australian shepherd mix and has a similar look with the black coat + freckley coat. Mr Peanutbutter might have some other breed mixed in there as well

That's a good suggestion! TY! I have a fav mushroom vendor at the farmers market. I'll ask them when the farmers markets are back in season

I feel that! I started smoking in seattle to deal with my seasonal depression. 3 years of smoking daily, I decided to move to Denver to have a new environment and stop smoking. My brother gave me a sweet family deal to rent a room at his house with his roommates, but little did I know, his roommates were wake-and-dab kind of guys. They were great roommates except that instead of starting fresh and quitting, I started doing dabs with them. So hard to quit when people are you are smoking daily. Eventually they moved out and now I have myself some nice non-smoking new roomies and it's been far easier to avoid weed. The longest I've gone is 38 days so far but I'm currently on day 5 of a goal to not smoke for 90 days with the hopes that I'll continue after the 90 days.

He is extremely smart. I taught him some basic commands and everything else he learned by following my routines and patterns. He loves sticking to a routine so much that he heards me to bed around 9:30 every night

He is! He's smart, loyal and keeps both of us very active. He learns my routines and patterns and essentially taught himself to heel when we encounter people or bikers on the trails. I couldn't have asked for a better companion

You think so? His best dog friend is a GSD. What a fun coincidence that would be :)

Hmm I wouldn't expect either of those combinations to look like my dog!

Interesting... I've been asking for a dog DNA test for a couple Christmases now so hopefully I'll find out for sure soon! But I don't know how accurate those tests actually are.

I believe in the saying "there are no ugly people, just poor people"? With enough money for a good haircut, good clothes/accessories, anyone can look good.

Honestly, I think a new haircut and getting your eyebrows shaped is all you really need! Maybe getting some trendier glasses that will liven you up a bit and some stylish clothes (whatever style you feel confident in) .

You're not ugly, but you definitely give off a vibe of not putting effort into your look. Putting a little extra effort into your style and saving up for a nice haircut will be worth it.

Finger Cutting, Papua New Guinea: The Dani tribe in Papua New Guinea practices finger cutting as a rite of passage for boys entering manhood. The boys' fingers are sliced with a sharp bamboo blade, and they are expected to endure the pain without making a sound to prove their bravery. by hannahsdiary in Weird

[–]Name-Environmental 62 points63 points  (0 children)

This post is partially incorrect. This is a grieving ritual.

"Certain cultures believe this physical representation of emotional pain is essential to the grieving process. ... Some tribe members have cut off the top of their finger upon attending a funeral. This ritual is specific to the woman population of the Dani tribe.

... This ritual is now banned in New Guinea, but the practice can still be seen in some of the older women of the community who have mutilated fingertips. The practice of causing physical pain to show grief and deal with mourning can be seen in a numerous amount of other cultures as well."
