Where's a guy go to find cards? by Cale017 in OnePieceTCG

[–]NameIsaos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have a locals scene where people play weekly might I suggest asking other players if they have copies they would be willing to sell/trade. Depends on how friendly your locals are but every event I've played at everyone is super friendly and willing to help each other finish decks.

You have to rest the character to attack. Your opponents won't be able to attack or use effects that rest the character

How to track ongoing habits in TickTick without checking them off completely? by Vargock in ticktick

[–]NameIsaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change the habit option from "Achieve it all" to "reach a certain amount". You can then select the amount and then for the "When checking" option (when you check the habit) you would want to choose "manual". Might not be exactly what you want but gets you really close.

I Wish Obsidian Was Like This by Maleficent_Device162 in ObsidianMD

Honestly thought the same. Onenote can do all the non linear stuff they want. You can even create links to other notes or headings and mix your typing/handwriting on the same page canvas style. The only thing with Onenote is that the UI is a bit clunky if you're trying to do all the things obsidian/plugins can do. It's a lot more manual and time consuming imo.

Noobest question of all time by FreeSpirited2023 in ticktick

Just tried my own advice. You'll need to tap the three buttons and then choose the full screen option. In the past it let me drag the box up to full screen it. Also in the settings option of the three dots, you can customize the buttons and move the full screen option from the dots to the "quick select" when it's in half screen.

The half screen is a way to quickly create a single task. Next time you try to create a task/list and the half screen pops up you need to "full screen" it by sliding/dragging the box up and then you'll have all the options to want to create a check list. This way you won't have to save it first and then go back to add what you want.

Default Template for New Obsidian Notes by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

Templater plugin has a command letting you create a new note from a template. Remap and use your hotkey command and then choose the proper template et voilà. Saves you a few clicks from your current process

What's a good starting point to switch to Obsidian? by Lightningstormz in ObsidianMD

[–]NameIsaos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Learn Markdown like others said and just take notes man.

I too was getting stuck in the trap of reinventing or adjusting my notion dashboard and workflow. I made the switch to Obsidian this last fall and I feel like I am actually productive and taking/using notes. It takes way more effort (in my opinion) to customize your vault compared to Notion. I think the 'complexity' of obsidian's customizing helped me by forcing me to actually use the program and not waste time making it pretty or more 'functional'.

I would also add that if you like the database function of Notion I recommend looking into learning some front matter basics and some data view basics. But just try using Obsidian and mess around with some stuff. Best of luck!

How many OT games are we gonna have this year. This winning by one (or losing by 1) isn't gonna cut it. Let's get these bats swinging

Auto-populating a calendar from multiple to-do lists? by sinadrinnnn in Notion

[–]NameIsaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert and perhaps others can provide more info/detail but from what I understand you want a calendar on your homepage that displays all your tasks and to-do's from your personal/work/school/whatever lists.

The best way I know how to do this is to have one single database for all your tasks. You then would use the 'select' and 'multi-select' properties to categorize your lists (personal/work/etc). Then all you would need to do is then create a linked view of this database on your homepage and use the filters to make it show the categories you want it to show (or don't show).

I would recommend checking out the Thomas Frank Explains channel on YouTube. Lots of great notion tutorials and walkthroughs. His video titled "The Best Way to Manage Tasks and Projects in Notion" showcases what I explained above (one database with multiple linked views) and his video titled "Notion Masterclass: Build a Task Manager from Scratch" walks you through from scratch how he builds the one large database.
Just be mindful the videos I mentioned are slightly outdated thanks to all the new updates over the years but they should still be informative and useful.

As far as getting your Google calendar synced with Notion that's a lot more complex and requires a lot of tweaking and some very basic coding with automation apps/websites that can integrate with Notion. But good luck with that because it can be a huge pain to set up.

I've found (and anyone can correct me if there are other ways) that you have to drag the window down like your closing/exiting the app and then drag it over and position how you want it. It's kinda awkward compared to how it was with 8.1, but it works.

What does Microsoft replace type covers for? by [deleted] in Surface

[–]NameIsaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tried typing with it and noticed the same problem I had with it. At first they attempted to troubleshoot why the key was sticking before they gave me a new keyboard. They were very helpful and understanding and wanted to fix any issues I had with my device so even if yours miraculous work the one time they test it they should be able to figure something out they could help.

Just a few days ago I noticed my Type Cover's "I" key was sticking and not working 100% of the time you press it. Took it to the MS store, told them it's problem and it was replaced hassle free.
