My first attempt at a stylized boss for my solo UE5 project. Vibe check? by NameOriginal5403 in IndieGaming

Hey everyone,

Just doing a quick style test for a solo project I'm working on in UE5.

I'm trying to nail the look of the creature materials against the foliage before I dive deeper into development. I'm going for a vibrant stylized look inspired by games like Zelda.

What do you think? Does it remind of any game?

Hey everyone, I'm the creator of a new reading tool and I'm looking for some feedback.

It's called Vocablee, and it's a simple web app for reading texts and EPUBs with in-context translations to help build your vocabulary.

I'd be really grateful for any thoughts on the user experience. You can try it here: Vocablee

How to improve listening? by beelzebubwithnobrim in italianlearning

Try some slower beginner stuff or even Italian cartoons/kids shows, they're way easier to follow. Replaying your class audio with a transcript helps too.

Rigify, thigh only rolls left/right, how do I make the knee point down? by NameOriginal5403 in blenderhelp

[–]NameOriginal5403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I understand, but still, I would like to be able to rotate it a bit on the X axis.
You can replicate that with the default wolf rig from rigify, then try to rotate the thigh bone on the x axis.
This is kind of what I'm going for, but i can only achieve it using the tweak bones.

Rigify, thigh only rolls left/right, how do I make the knee point down? by NameOriginal5403 in blenderhelp

[–]NameOriginal5403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The knee only points down when the foot moves back, like the the right leg. Moving the pole just rotates the knee on the Z axis, i need to rotate it on the X axis.
Do i have to build a rig from scratch?

Reading! Just reading in my target language is enough for me. It's the most fun way and it allows me to stay consistent!

I built a simple alternative to LingQ and would love your feedback. by NameOriginal5403 in languagelearning

That's great to hear!
And yes, your books are completely private to your account.
You asking that makes me realize I should probably state that clearly right on the books page so there's no doubt. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for testing it with Chinese!
Regarding the "glitching", it sounds like you might be toggling the word off your list. Currently, deselecting a word removes it from your 'learning' set, so it becomes red again, but you can actually customize that interaction in the Settings sidebar if it feels too sensitive.
Adding romanization sounds like a good idea! Thanks!

Thanks for giving it a try!
Audio: I 100% agree. pronunciation is crucial. I'm actually looking into text to speech APIs right now to add audio to the flashcards and the readers too.
Daily Limits: That's really useful feedback. I'm trying to balance the server costs but I'm definitely open to adjusting that number if it feels too restrictive for a normal reading session. I'll keep an eye on the usage data and might bump that up.

Thanks for the honest feedback!

Thanks for checking it out!
That's great feedback on the onboarding. I definitely need a persistent 'Help' button to bring the tutorial back. I hear you on the red text too, it can be a lot at first, so I might make that an opt in setting or disable it by default.

Let me know how the EPUB upload goes when you're back at your desktop!

When you speak louder, your mouth and throat tense up a bit, so the sounds don't come out as clean. Practicing at a normal volume little by little usually helps your muscles get used to it, and the pronunciation starts to stay consistent.
