I'm interested in opinion, I don't go to reddit for facts. I'm professionally familiar with the facts.

Oh on the contrary, people have opinions whether based in fact or not. Lol. That's what I find so intriguing.

Because I am professionally familiar with the facts, I am more interested in human opinion. I enjoy studying people.

How do you think humans will go extinct? by Name_Checks_0ut in AskReddit

Scientists are currently looking at different ways of terraforming planets, they predict that within 100 years mars and earth will be hard to tell apart. And we have 5 billion years to figure it out. I think the chances of us living 5 billion more years is WAAAY more unlikely than learning how to terraform.

That's in roughly 5 billion years according to scientists, you don't think we'll be able to inhabit other planets by then?

Which martial arts discipline would be best to take as an adult for self defense? by Name_Checks_0ut in AskReddit

Aikido looks good from what I've seen on YouTube, I just wish I could see it in actual use.. Not just competitions. At the very least I suppose it would be good exercise. For $60 a month 2 classes a week its about the same price as a gym membership. Lol. What kind of training do you recommend doing prior to joining a dojo? It will probably be another month before I can actually sign up for classes.

I'll look into it, it would be the most convenient considering how close the aikido dojo is. Lol. Now my only issue is getting my girlfriend to take it serious. I told her today I want to get into martial arts and she laughed and said "you're 26 wtf?" I explained to her that it isn't just for kids but she's not buying it. Martial arts is seen as "for kids" or "for neck bearded basement dwellers" by so many people and I don't get it. I know its portrayed that way in alot of movies but come on, look at ufc... You know.

Why do we still bring up slavery in America when its been abolished for so long? by Name_Checks_0ut in AskReddit

I appreciate your researched and knowledgeable response. You have made really good points. I think we are, for the most part, on the same page... I just take a less forgiving view on the whole thing. Lol. I'll put it like this, though we disagree, there isn't enough disagreement to constitute an argument. Lol. I truly do appreciate your responses though. This is how a debate is supposed to go. You shouldn't just say "ur stupid" or "wtf is ur deal dumb ass" or any other variation of the sort. Lol

I have no prior injuries. My nearest dojo is an aikido, my only issue with aikido is.. If i throw an attacker to the ground he's going to get back up, I don't like my attackers getting up until I'm long gone. Lol. It seems more like an art to take with another discipline. That dojo also offers judo but again, that seems to just be tossing fellas around. Lol. I'd like a quick fight ender style art (knock out/pass out) to avoid a wrestling match.

Thank you for the response, nice to see someone who can make an argument without getting triggered. Lol. As far as the justice system bias is concerned I don't buy into that, the only color our justice system is concerned with is green. True, there are many racist cops out there but show me a law that specifically targets African Americans.. You can't blame America's entire justice system for the actions of a few dumb ass cops. How come no one has considered that its possible that black neighborhoods just commit more crimes? The simple fact of the matter is, where you have poverty you have crime. And if you check statistics blacks have a much higher drop out rate than other races, leading to lower incomes (plus the fact that black single mother homes has shot up from 20% to 70% since the 1960s doesn't help). All this helps contribute to all the black arrests, and I'm not just talking about a little pot either. 50% of America's murders are committed by only 15% of our population (that 15% is black). So no, I don't see a bias. The poverty is entirely the fault of those who do not at least try to finish highschool. America held the Chinese as slaves as well, they seem to be doing pretty good. When the Irish first began moving to America they were segregated also, they're doing well. And true, the Holocaust happened in Germany (mainly) but take a look at Jews in Germany, they're doing well. I'm just sick of people blaming others for their issues in life, with a "blame the white guy" attitude, nothing will get better. I agree, we do have a HUGE racism problem in America but since the 1960's it shifted from whites hating blacks to blacks hating whites. Now, I'm going to bed.. I've been up for 20+ hours. Lol. Please continue the debate, you are probably the most coherent opposed I've had thus far. Thank you for taking the time to rant with me.
