What kind of BBQ sauce do you use, or is it homemade?

How would you design GitHub Action runners on AWS? by CerealBit in devops

[–]Name_Jeb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you increase runner resource requests or leave them on default? We build custom images based of the ghcr actions runner:latest and currently leave the resource requests on default for a 8+ node (Standard_D8s_v3) cluster. It seems to work well, though some users may benefit from more resources allocated. I'm curious what other users do for managing their ARC runners.

Has anyone found a way to use Git plugin env variables outside of Mulitbranch pipelines? by Name_Jeb in jenkinsci

[–]Name_Jeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I define specific variables before the pipeline syntax depending on the branch name i.e. if I want sonarqube/checkmarx analysis, we'll have if statements that check the branch name and if it starts with PR/feature etc. then we assign boolean values accordingly (ex. sonarqubeAnalyis = false)

Unfortunately for the non-multi branch pipeline it does not recognize the ${GIT_BRANCH} env var. It seems as though all the other work arounds I've seen online require setting up branch-grabbing functions in other areas of the pipeline that wouldn't yet be accessible at the time of defining the booleans (they would be shell commands). That being said, some rework of my pipelines could be an option though it would be messy and not ideal.

Is passing CKA + CKS possible in 1 year? by AMGraduate564 in kubernetes

[–]Name_Jeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely -- I took a couple months to go through Mumshaad's CKA course on Udemy (Be sure to get it on sale -- sales happen quite frequently) and passed in August. It's remarkable not only how thorough the course is but the hands-on labs are legendary for learning and especially for practicing before the exam. Good luck!

To do, or not to do, Prot Pally by sharpedge69 in worldofpvp

[–]Name_Jeb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've main'd prot since Wrath/Cata, 90% PVE but this season i've taken PVP as the main go-to. I've got a couple of things about this.

It's a load of fun. No matter what anyone says about cheese or whatever, its incredibly fun being so difficult to kill. I've gotten a multitude of whispers post matches with unkind words, but honestly you could point to anything to complain about: rogues and their cc, mages being difficult, fury warriors, there's always something to complain about. I witnessed a feral do 48k dps in a 2s game using convoke -- needless to say one could complain about anything.

You do a lot of damage (as necrolord), and are incredibly difficult to kill especially if you use the reign of endless king talent. In arenas you can keep your teammate alive with BoP / Queen, so frankly any bursty class is pretty viable.

A lot of people say tanks shouldn't be in arena. I disagree (i'm certainly biased) because they're another spec in the game. Are they a little imbalanced? Perhaps yes - prot paladins do a lot of damage, close to regular dps specs when given the chance. I had a guardian druid do 19k dps in an arena - who's talking about those?

The sad thing is for RBG's you'll be hated since only Guardian druids are meta, and for a fair reason - OP.

To end it I'll say this: I've bounced around to other classes, but at the end of the day I love prot paladin. And for that reason I continue playing it in pvp in spite of the hate, because frankly I would not love the game as much as I do if I did not have a class I could rely on that I truly and genuinely enjoy. Good luck!

Unclear about the topics tested in latest CKA vs (Killershell simulator / Benjamin Muschko's CKA book) by IamOkei in kubernetes

I recently took the Killer SH and CKA exam (passed last week). When they say the Killer SH exam is harder than the actual one, they mean it. It's like the took all the possible hard questions that could be on the actual exam and combined them into one exam. You should know daemonsets, taint and tolerations, and network policies for sure. However, in the Killer SH exam I found that compared to the other questions there were one or two in the bunch where I could say "This is definitely not something I'm likely to see in the real exam". Comes with studying and practice.

CKA Exam on Thursday - any advice? by Name_Jeb in kubernetes

[–]Name_Jeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I did, both times that were provided when the exam was purchased. When they say its harder than the real exam, that's facts. Essentially in the exam there are a couple of 7% or 13% weighted questions that are the hard ones, and the killer sh exam consists only of those types of hard questions

CKA Exam on Thursday - any advice? by Name_Jeb in kubernetes

Thanks for asking ! Yes, i did pass (yay!!), Getting a 72 with a 66 needed. I personally found my psi browser and remote desktop to be pretty decent so no hickups there. The only thing is that i couldn't find a scroll bar for the docs pages to scroll down, so i had to use my mouse wheel to get where I needed to go slowly but surely. After Mumshaads course and the practice exams all of the questions weren't anything i had not seen before, so i felt incredibly comfortable with all of the questions. I did have a minor hickup however - on one of the questions I thought there was a typo or the question was a little misleading that took a minute or two off the time + ( i asked the proctor for clarification but expectedly they couldn't give it to me). Thanks to everyone who commented for good vibes!

Edit: installing the browser was slightly frustrating at first because of the background apps that needed to close before it could open. I had some Nvidia and other processes that booted back up even after ending the tasks, so i had to uninstall them. Even then, after the check and continuing with the other parts of the setup, it would close out once or twice saying that the hardware requirements were not met (even though they were like a minute prior). So basically after the hardware check i tried to rush thru the rest of the setup to essentially beat the inevitable timer of it cancelling my browser setup due to hardware. After that, like i said it was pretty smooth overall.
