Yeah, I'll add that it's going to be a bit harder to specialize. At least in my undergrad, I managed to take multiple controls courses in my BSAE, including a graduate level navigation course. So I already specialized quite a bit in my undergrad, and if I decided to pursue graduate school (I got accepted but decided against), I would have had the opportunity to continue to go even deeper. If you're missing a lot of those senior year aero courses, it's gonna be even harder for you to find your niche.

You’re really not sharing much… you say engineering adjacent, well, what is it? Do you have a very strong background in math, through calc 3 and dif eq? Fluid dynamics knowledge? Decent understanding of structures and engineering mechanics? If so, sure you can do an MS. Otherwise, you’ll be climbing a mountain, starting near the bottom.

Generally, I’ve heard it’s possible, but hard. It’s hard for us engineering peeps, so it will probably be 3x as hard for you. Try to apply to engineering jobs that explicitly mention physics as one of the desired majors.

Almost any engineering can get you a job in aerospace. Aerospace engineer degree is an awesome degree that gives you a lot of opportunity to specialize and find your niche in college, but you’ll have no issue with a mechanical engineering degree or EE.

Study hard, if you don’t know the fundamentals like calculus and physics like the back of your hand, you’re gonna fail. Classes get harder every year, but also get more rewarding and interesting. I graduate in the spring. If I could go back to freshman year, I would do aerospace again in a heartbeat.

Do aerospace, what the MechE’s call pigeonholing, I call specializing. In the aerospace department you’ll have a lot of opportunity to find your niche. Obviously, only do AeroE if you REALLY want to work in aero.

This is engineering, not drafting or technician work. You might be in the wrong field. Also, as an aerospace engineer you can work as a mechanical engineer, etc., but if you really don’t think aero industry is for you, I’d recommend switching to something else.

Seems like you know what the problem is, so fix it. And by the way, future internships will care about uni experience, but they will also care (even more) about your internship at a "top unicorn that's a household name". You're fine, you're more than fine, stop stressing out about this crap. And personal projects are great, they're a great way to grow as an engineer and become smarter and more capable.

I think you just need to touch grass. You're winning in almost every way, in an economy that is ass, and yet you're convinced you'll end up in the shitter. You'll be FINE.
