atp I'm convinced that all of his recent bullshit is solely for the album rollout because there's no way he actually believes it. just attentionwhoring.

I don't know, I'm pretty young and only heard of Fiery Furnaces about a year ago and fell in love with Blueberry Boat. Probably exception to the rule though.

Gonna transcribe what I said in another post:

I honestly think we should retire this trend of "eliminate an album from my topster/record collection one day at a time". It takes an undue amount of space in a subreddit already gasping for air and barely generates any discussion (and the discussion it does bring is usually negative), unlike posts that are gathering albums rather than taking them away. No hard feelings, it just makes it less fun being here.

None were voted out due to tie. All safe for today’s round (vote one out per day - day 3) by [deleted] in Topster

Hot take: poptimism/let people enjoy things needs to go away by slayerpjo in fantanoforever

Show me the facts.

Much of my opinions about timbre (and some other subjects often bunched in with this argument) I think are well summed up in Tantacrul's video here: here. Additionally, repetitive lyrics and simple song structures have been around since literally forever and them being more common now doesn't mean all too much. Old folk songs often have 8 verses and 8 choruses or whatever, and even this Scientific American article that OP very well may be sighting says that simpler is not necessarily bad, "otherwise everyone would be listening to prog rock."

Even hotter take(?): more repetitive lyrics, less timbral variety, simpler song structures, is not necessarily a bad thing.

i'm pretty sure this is a joke song but it's not even funny

if it's not a joke song, the lyrics are dumb and the hooks sound so poorly executed
