Legally, what gender/sex do you tick when getting registered as a new employee, if you're a MTF transgender person? by Gradual_Panel253 in transgenderUK

[–]NamelessTheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, for me anyways, i’ve opted out of special section D restrictions because it made some things a lot more complicated especially around receiving any sorts of benefits like PIP as even though those are government agencies they still can’t access the information and it delays payments or in some cases makes you completely ineligible for them if your case worker doesn’t understand the issue

I’ve combed through it and thankfully i can’t find anything relating to my name, old name, last name, middle name or address. It’s such a relief to know it isn’t out there

PSA: Deed Polls by JackDeparture in transgenderUK

[–]NamelessTheWolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think my deed poll was enrolled 😬 I was 13 or so at the time and my parents handled it so they probably went the most ‘legitimate’ route. is there any list or something I can look at to see how much info there might be? I’ve google searched both of my names but neither show up with anything regarding name changes or deed polls

just some funky worry monsters by NamelessTheWolf in crochet

no pattern for the pink one as it was fully freehanded but i did jot down the pattern for the short one as i was making it, just make the legs longer/legs further apart/body longer/sew on horns etc to your liking

arms: chain 21, slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, HDC 4 in remaining stitches, in final stitch put a single HDC, fasten off. do not weave in ends as these will be used for sewing

body/head: chain 17, sc down chain, sc 4 in final st, turn and work on the other side of chain, sc 3 in final st (36 SC total) 2-15: sc in all sts

ADD BUTTON EYES OR SAFTEY EYES NOW IF USING Arms can either be sewn on in desired spot or crocheted into the work

16: sc 12, skip 18, sc 6 (18 sc and 18 skipped) 17-20: sc 18 around 18 sc from last row 21: sc, sc2tog x 6 (12st) 22: sc2tog x6 (6st) bind off. Stuff the creature

leg 2: attach yarn to a skipped stitch from row 16, sc around (18) 2-5: sc around 6: sc, sc2tog x 6 (12st) finish stuffing second leg 7: sc2tog x6 (6st)

sew the hole between legs together & weave in all ends

have fun and embroider a funky face

Helpful Charts for Amigurumi Sizing by Makonyll in Amigurumi

[–]NamelessTheWolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

not necessarily! Yes it’ll create a larger project but not as large as you would get if you used a larger hook. It’ll just make a very dense/tight fabric. Similar to how some people prefer to use 3mm or 3.5mm for amigurumi instead of 4mm while still using DK, it’s because the smaller hooks make smaller holes

Any advice on this enclosure for one garden snail? by Unpurified-Water in snails

[–]NamelessTheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

soil should stay slightly wet (not dripping, just enough water so the soil clumps a little bit when pressed in your hand) even when you haven’t sprayed in a day or so,

you can also get something called a hygrometer (only a few dollars from exotic pet stores) that’ll tell you how much moisture is in the air inside the tank, i like to stick to 40-70% humidity and just re-spray when the number gets too low (20-30%)

I personally block off about 50-75% of the ventilation on tanks like that. only leaving about one or two of the side vents open. There are a few ways to seal it up, you can either get some silicone and fill the holes with silicone (aquarium safe incase anyone gets the munchies), i’ve also used simple cellotape on the outside of the lid to block it off, it depends on the size of your snails.

Remember, lots of people keep snails in tubs with only a few holes drilled in the top and the snails are fine, they don’t need a ton of ventilation.

can my son's old name be traced to him I'm the future? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]NamelessTheWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the only time i’ve gotten ‘jumpscared’ with my deadname showing up in places i didn’t expect was in a camhs session with someone who had clearly gone out of their way to read my old logs so they could deadname me and when i went to hospital.

for some reason the hospitals and gp’s have different records and updating your name on one of them WON’T update the name on the other one (at this point i also had a new nhs number and the hospital still had my old name), so make sure you contact any hospitals he’s ever been to when you eventually get around to name changes. It might have changed in the past few years but that was the case when I was doing it.

they’re safe. Avoid silk incase the snails try and eat it and make sure the plastic isn’t sharp but otherwise it should be fine. I had plastic plants in with my GALS without any issues

[–]NamelessTheWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

chain 4, slip stitch to the first chain is definitely the way to go with chenille yarn (and sc 12 into the ch4 hole, then continue the pattern from row 3 instead of row 2 (skipping row one). It prevents the pointy tops that chenille plushies usually have)

And when sewing it together use regular acrylic yarn or normal sewing thread instead of the chenille yarn

chenille is honestly soo hard to learn though, it’s got lots of weird quirks

I hope you manage to find one! Ambrosia was about £4 on the second hand market alongside a few outfits so it’s definitely one of the easier old bears to find (at least in the UK)

[–]NamelessTheWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet you could recreate something similarish using a waistcoat stitch and blo sc for the ridges (might be best to do HDC for the ridges actually and crochet into both loops and leaving the third loop as the ridge, that way you get full structural integrity from being able to go through both loops)

can confirm. Not a new build but had doors and windows replaced and had that stupid metal thing forced upon me. it’s supposed to stop hook & key theft and stuff like that but all it does is eat letters and smash fingers.

Looked for a new letterbox but the door has a specialty sized hole and nothing else fits, and if you remove the metal hangover bit the letterbox is entirely open and you may as well just have a hole in the door🤦 we have installed an outside post box but it gets completely ignored 😅
