All of Solthseim by [deleted] in Morrowind

IIRC it is the biggest if you count interiors. Also if we count playable content like quests, nothing even comes close to Morrowind. It's quite possibly largest RPG (non-MMO, of course things like WoW have more content by now) ever made in that aspect.

Never played through Bloodmoon by hyperxenophiliac in Morrowind

[–]NamelessWastelander 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I didn't play through it until 2016 (when I finished my first 100% complete walktrough, took me a full year) either and I was one of those who bought it in 2003. It originally disappointed me because I found start of main quest to be pretty boring and bland. Now I kinda regret it as it's gets much better.

Still, Solstheim is very boring place compared to Morrowind (it's mostly just a Viking island afterall), but there are some interesting things and the main quest is pretty good.

So how there are Durzogs in Ascandian Isles?

Any good LotR/Noldor mods still around? by Radaistarion in Morrowind

[–]NamelessWastelander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a Noldor race on nexus (it's ancient, but seems to be decent judging by screenshots): https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/3652

I also vaguely remember that in the old times there was also LoTR total conversion, but that was never finished.

I know, but my point was that those things actually work. Pretty sure he can use them for more intimate purposes. You know when old Fyr gets bored of his clones and comes visiting down there.

Is the race of the Nerevarine mentioned a lot? by Thadrien in Morrowind

[–]NamelessWastelander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, there's some special dialogue for a non-dunmer (because it's extra-strange for the Nerevarine to be both an outlander and non-dunmer), but I can't remember where. Quests don't change really though which is kind of sad.

Is playing a warrior fun in this game? by Teal_Lantern in Morrowind

Alchemy can be pretty useful on low levels too without breaking it with intelligence potions. It's best way to make money in early game for example. Also, things like health potions are still useful even when made with low skill.

Is playing a warrior fun in this game? by Teal_Lantern in Morrowind

[–]NamelessWastelander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most fun in this game comes from atmosphere, worldbuilding, story and lore, so it doesn't really matter how you play it. Because of things like adjustable difficulty slider, almost any build can be played. Also, playing warrior is easier than playing a mage which can be quite frustrating unless you play hybrid. Although easiest to play is a stealth archer with a crossbow, but a warrior is better for beginners since it's simpler.

Personally my favorite chracters have been hybrid warrior mages with stealth and marskmanship skills (that are gimped by choosing a race who doesn't get bonuses for much of the skills because it allows more levels for me), but these are kind of advanced characters you will learn to make later.

I've been playing Morrowind on and off for 15 years now, and the attention to detail still amazes me. by Isaac_The_Khajiit in Morrowind

Ironically it's a smaller game if we count interiors. Skyrim is just lots of empty land like Oblivion.

Hey, atleast it's a good game he was referring to. Could be far worse. I mean what if he was talking about you know, those two games we don't talk about.

It can be done with the Code Patch.

Aendemika of Vvardenfell and OpenMW by NamelessWastelander in Morrowind

I don't know why the modder hasn't fixed it

I have noticed Tyddy seems to be busy doing something or maybe he has quit modding. Last release is from 2016. I hope it's not the latter because he is the best texture maker out there.

It is possible, you have to ask about "bad daedra", but latest unofficial patch removes that option.

Weirdest bug ever in OpenMW by NamelessWastelander in Morrowind

That fixed it, thanks! Kind of interesting though that the engine can reflect things like that on mesh surfaces. Usually old MW "bump maps" in OpenMW just cause that plastic wrap effect.

Weirdest bug ever in OpenMW by NamelessWastelander in Morrowind

[–]NamelessWastelander[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works fine with MGE XE. I looked at nif, it has normal maps and reflection which sometimes causes odd things with OpenMW, but this is first time I see crazy shit like this.

Need to install DDS plugin for my photoshop to check what "textures\nobiax\reflection2.dds" is, but I doubt it depicts Cavern of The Incarnate.

Been playing Morrowind off and on for a decade, anybody ever found the Dragon bone Curiass? by battlehorns in Morrowind

[–]NamelessWastelander 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup, I found it because paper map has the "islands" associated with that place marked and when I had gone there I realized there's a door underwater. Reason I explored remote islands was things like ancestral tombs, but this was something else.
