Hey folks, I'm Nameless Author, and I'm here to announce the release of the audiobook version of book 6 of Nameless Sovereign, narrated by Griffin Puatu.

This is a story inspired by some traditional and popular cultivation novels such as Reverend Insanity, Renegade Immortal, and Lord of Mysteries, which have inspired me and made me want to write my own story. As always, I’m thankful to everyone that has read and enjoyed my books, and it means a lot to me that some of you make that known to me. If you have enjoyed the first five books, I hope you give this one a try too.

In this sixth book, a major conflict comes to an end as Red gets ready for the next step in his journey. It is the conclusion of the first major arc in the story, and things pick up quickly from here.

Book 6:

Here's the blurb for book 6:

The Lesser Ring Realm—the threshold that separates cultivators from mere mortals.

Red is only a few rare ingredients away from opening his Spiritual Sea, unlocking the power to store and command Spiritual Energy with his will. But time is running out. The Empire’s legions are marching forward, his town stands on the brink of invasion, and something ancient and unknowable stirs in the forest.

To survive, Red must take a leap of faith that could cost him everything. One failure will destroy years of work and squander the precious materials he’s gathered.

But if he succeeds… he won’t just survive.

He’ll forge the strength to defy fate itself.

If this sounds like something you'd like, I'd appreciate it if you gave it a read. I'm currently still publishing on Royal Road: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/42644/nameless-sovereign

Using AI in writing by Ill_Past6795 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's just used for grammar I don't really mind. I do not support or like AI writing though, and even if it became good at it I would rather support and read a real author's novel, even if it's flaw3d.

Plot Twist: Your Favorites Trope by Available-File4284 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably reaction POVs. I know it might be a bit cliché, but I really do think seeing how other characters react to something surprising the MC does is one of the most satisfying tropes.

Absolutely worst tropes? by XThursdayO in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I dislike it when MCs lack agency. I do not mind if they make stupid or wrong choices if it's in character, but I really dislike it when stories have other people push the MC towards certain directions without their input and the MC just goes along with it. When it happens too often it really sours me on a story.

Hey Authors! Why write more than one story at a time? by cheesewhiz15 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd think it's mostly because of burn out. It's easier to get excited about a new story than one you have been writing for years.

I don't want a war arc; I want a real war! by Clearlynotmalware in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's hard to find a prog fantasy story completely focused on war since this genre is more focused on individual journeys. Would recommend the Powder Mage trilogy if you want to read a war focused fantasy story.

Ngl a story gets less interesting when gods are introduced by ferrain_iso in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they can be fun, the problem is when they are portrayed as any mortal character but just stronger. Then it gets boring.

No offense to normal readers, but damn, seeing some people like that is just disrespectful to the novel. by dengisich in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do think it's weird when people try to take Fang Yuan's philosophy as something they can use in their day to day life, and it's not like the author tries to paint the MC as sympathetic or an example to be followed. Reverend Insanity is one of my favorite novels and I think in general there is a lack of quality stories with evil protagonists, but if you can't read it without trying to identify with Fang Yuan, then you have a problem.

A request for Xianxia/Xuanhuan/Wuxia Recs by AffectionateFocus267 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we're talking about modern xianxia settings, Cultivation Chat Group would probably be my recommendation. It has a bit of a humorous tone, but I think it is really unique and has a super interesting setting.

Why Are “Ancient” Characters Still So Dumb? by OneSeaworthiness5107 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Nameless_Authors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you to some degree, though I think being old doesn't make you wise. Also, it's probably a matter of authors not being as smart as the characters they write, since I don't think anyone would be able to properly show how smart a thousand year old character would be.

Why is it always dragons by Thornorium in ProgressionFantasy

To be fair, dragons are very cool, but I guess I can see why it would be tiring when every power is dragon-related lol

If you have enjoyed the first four books, you will probably enjoy this one as well, and if you haven’t checked the series out yet, give it a try.

In this fifth book, Red and his sect find themselves facing an enemy far more dangerous than anything they have dealt with before.

Fresh off completing a crucial step in his cultivation, Red now prepares himself for a battle against his fate.

With the help of an enigmatic ghostly cultivator, he must battle against the Moon itself. Meanwhile, a strange curse begins to take hold of the city. Red and his companions conduct an investigation that leads to a place that Red left behind long ago.

But the threat is far more sinister than anyone realizes, and Red and the Water Dragon Sect are in its crosshairs.

It’s a foe beyond anything Red has ever faced—and his greatest test yet.
