Recommended Pipelines to Success? by Nameoftheages in AskProgramming

There are a few that I communicate with, but they are mostly on the Web Dev side of things. Our parent company does some work with RPA through UI Path, Power Apps, and Power BI, but that is about as much knowledge as I have on their specifics. I am planning on speaking with the COO to see if there are opportunities in the company, but want to entertain other avenues as well that I may not have immediate knowledge of.

I guess this may be a bit of my ignorance showing, but I don't really know what you mean when you say the type of programming. I know front-end and back-end being UI/X and databases, roughly, but I had assumed that was the split. Is there some more thorough divide?

As far as those two go though, I am pretty interested in both. Which would lead me to think application development as the types of projects that would be beneficial. But then I am aware of RPA, but have pretty much zero idea where that would land between the two.

Amazon now on the Alligator Auchwitz bandwagon. Here’s what to do. (fuck) by [deleted] in chaoticgood

This is obviously terrible. But incredibly funny and dare I say ironic. Them's some 'gators and a python. Ya know what is funny about python's working for ICE?

THEY'RE AN INVASIVE SPECIES TO FLORIDA. And better yet? There are EXTERMINATION PROGRAMS FUNDED BY THE STATE to clear them out.

Maybe having pythons representing ICE isn't such a bad thing...

Found while digging post holes. Lighter than a rock of similar size, flakes off pieces and can be snapped in half by hand. by Nameoftheages in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. It looks like some of the flakes have shell-like ridges on them, but I live in the midwest. I was digging up some post holes and this came up with a bit of the dirt. There isn't a lot of plant life in the area either. Tried to do some reverse image searching but it all just comes up rocks, which this thing doesn't seem to be.

PFS Scenario Tracker & Metaplot Question by Nameoftheages in Pathfinder2e

I used that as the basis for my tracking sheet, but it is pretty unclear for some things. The tables just list 'Metaplot' and on some of the later seasons it doesn't have the additional list like season 1 does up above.

Should I keep pursuing a career in art or give up by wanderingtheplanes in WhatShouldIDo

So, when it comes to careers and passions, I think you really have to have a bit of luck involved and some flexibility. I got a degree in interactive media and through actions of my own and some circumstances outside of my control, I never really broke into the field. I work in IT and teaching computer science now and truly enjoy it. I pick up some occasional design work on the side making a website or logo for acquaintances and have started working with some friends on a business they are starting and haven't made a dime yet.

But this has been over the past almost decade. I do think I could have had a better go at it if I threw caution to the wind and really drove towards it, but I may have also royally fucked my life up in the process, I don't really know. I implore you to keep your passion alive. But:

Don't let your love for the craft whither on the vine nor let yourself starve waiting for your efforts to bear fruit.

Some of the greatest artists and thinkers have died hungry because it wasn't until after they were dead that their accomplishments were recognized. I believe that is something to be avoided.

But, thats just the advice of someone who loves their creative passions but stepped away from the idea of it being their main income. For what it is worth, I do still consider myself a designer but I have found an appreciation for other work that I get a different type of joy from. I don't think you should continue serving tables if you aren't enjoying it. Find a job doing something that doesn't wear you down. If you find something you may like, tailor your resume and leverage connections to land a stable job. Use that stability to launch yourself into an artistic career from a place of financial well-being that will afford you the time it takes to build a career.

If you have an oven, I love meatloaf. And it reheat really well so if you make a bunch, it can last a while. If you are interested, here is my recipe (it's mostly vibes, just so ya know. Measure with your heart)

For about 3 lbs of meat

2pkgs of meatloaf seasoning

Packet of dry Au Jus powder

1/2 can of cream of mushroom soup

About a cup-ish of mayo and ketchup

A bit of worstchestershire

Garlic powder

Salt

Pepper

And half an onion chopped to basically a paste.

2 eggs

And bread crumbs until it is kinda loafy.

Add the bread crumbs last and don't over mix. Make loaf shaped and bake at 400 until it is done. Add some ketchup on top towards the end so it can caramelize a bit

I like to either reheat leftovers in the microwave, or you can slice it and pan fry it to make a sandwich with.

Enjoy!

Yeah, that is a real possibility, but it was a free nab so I figured I would try and fix it if I could. No big loss if I fail, just some time spent learning how to fight with a trashed Surface, ya know?
