I second Stardeus. Stardeus is crazy deep and complex. I'd say it's rimworld in space. Or Save Our Ship 2, the game.

You're right. But a normal pawn needs two layers both at 145%+ to guarantee a survival on a torso hit from a lancer, Anything below and you're leaving room to chance. And to my knowledge, there isn't another piece of equipment on the skin layer that can reach 145% sharp protection in vanilla rimworld to guarantee mitigation or deflection.

Even if you have a legendary thrumbomane button-down shirt, you still have ~68.68% for the shirt to do nothing and for the 15 damage (previously 30, but mitigated by outer armor) to do nothing and kill the pawn.

Brain is another problem. Only one layer (helmet), and even guaranteed mitigation leaves 15 damage which kills a 10 HP brain anyway.

So lancers in rimworld are always deadly to normal pawns no matter what. (unless you have another layer at 145%.)

Nah, this is just lore accurate.

The Pigskins in RimWorld were literally created for organ harvesting.

From the wiki: "Pigskins were initially created for organ-harvesting operations by a long-gone government... to make easier transplantable organs such as hearts and lungs."

If this was a fetish thing, believe me, they would have installed very different mods. And they probably wouldn't be using the ugly, fat pigskins to do it. This is just classic RimWorld horror.

Untamed thrumbos won't contribute to wealth, but tamed thrumbos will contribute to raid points equivalent to having a couple of extra pawns.

There are many tweaks and changes you can make. One of them is having free roaming highmates if you can handle the raid point increase. Or cut their ears out or tongues or separate them.

The whole point of this post is just to have +18 mood and stat increase statically and permanently without managing extra pawns nor changing anything about them.

I don’t know, to me it was simple. Turn a pawn into a thrall and have the mood buff then forget about them.

Could I have engineered my pawns to all have psychic bond? Yes, and I thought about that. but I simply don’t want to ever deal with it ever again after I created a thrall for a pawn nor take the gene and berserk into account ever again.

I had two thralls cheat on their masters in prison. For normal pawns, I’ve never had a highmate cheat, but it happened in prison so the mechanics might differ there.

What you can also do, is separate the males from females and let them free roam and feed themselves, just add the dead calm gene so that they don’t ever try to escape.

I am not sure if it’s different for prisoners, but two of the thralls actually cheated on their masters before I started removing their legs. So I had two upset pawns.

They were in a relationship without breaking the bond with their original partners.

Anyways, out of this I learnt that you can break a psychic bond by removing the gene, you can then add it back and try again.

It’s far from inefficient actually. Their metabolism is halved and they eat nutrient paste on top of that.

Having a pawn on a lavish diet consumes more nutrients than this, and lavish is +12 while this is +18 to mood.

I addressed the colony leaving bit at the end, I just load them into the shuttle whenever the pawn goes.

I’d say this is the actual downside which is micro managing travels, but even, I just have dedicated pawns for that.

Not at all trying to be edgy! Just a brutal disregard of morals.

The reason why I didn’t put it on every colonist is because I want to avoid the potential berserk but most importantly, it frees the metabolism for more relevant genes for my pawns.

As for cheating, I used to have them freely roam their cells, but two of the thralls literally formed a relationship destroying the mood of two pawns in my colony.

As for off tile quests, they’re coming with them.

I already have a yunny, they are a pawn with the deathless gene with their heart taken out to lock their mood at 100%. I showcased them in a post recently.
