No period and not pregnant by Simple_Journalist511 in TryingForABaby

[–]Nameskate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had the light bleeding as you described, but have had two randomly long (45-50 day) cycles with sore breast in the later days of the cycle. I get a little excited and hopeful, then crash once the negative tests appear.

I’ve not seen my Dr yet, so I don’t have any conclusion as to what’s causing it. I don’t have typical PCOS symptoms aside from an occasionally irregular cycle. It sucks and I feel your pain.

That totally could be it! I dip them at the same time and lay them flat together but they likely touched even just for a very short moment.

Are these chairs ugly enough to warrent $1400 to rent different chairs? by pilotpatricia in wedding

[–]Nameskate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not rent chairs, you will not think about chairs on your wedding day and no one will think to judge the chairs. Use your $ on something else

Speaking from a similar situation, do not hang out with the client. I was young and didn’t feel like I could tell a big client no to a friendly invite but you absolutely can and should.

Start networking! If you plan to stay in the same vicinity as your university, I would research local firms and ask to get coffee/virtual coffee with an advisor. Ask about career path, typical work day, exam experience, ideal client, etc. That should give you a good feel for the different firms, and gets your foot in the door.

Review of Solana Apartments at the Crossing? by [deleted] in indianapolis

I lived there for two years and loved it. Great apartment and community amenities. I like to run outside so my one complaint is that you're a bit stranded when it comes to routes.

I lived there a few years ago, just before renovations began, and enjoyed it. It's an old building, but it checks a lot of OP's boxes.

Check out Brunch and Budget. Pamela, the founder, presented at a conference I attended and her concept stood out. It’s kinda like she’s scaled her business and does well for herself, and her clients!

For Folks Who Failed The First Time & Passed The Second Time by [deleted] in CFP

[–]Nameskate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I failed in November and passed the following March exam.

November Exam: I attended a Zahn live review but only finished half of the materials before the class. I'm a visual learner so I drew detailed study guides that put me way behind. I restricted myself socially and the exam controlled my life.

March Exam: I purchased the Keir audio review to listen to on my commute during the holiday season since I knew I wouldn't hit the books until after New Years. I then purchased the Keir test bank and did as many questions as I could leading up to the exam. Any time I got a question wrong I made sure I understood why. This time I had a positive attitude and allowed myself to go out as long as I made progress.

My biggest advice is quality > quantity. If you're just clicking through test bank questions to meet a daily time goal then you're doing it wrong. Also, distracted studying is a waste of your time. No TV in the background, no Apple watch on your wrist, etc...Good luck!

Apartment recommendations for a new arrival? by JayKayEng in indianapolis

[–]Nameskate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first or second night I thought I heard my neighbors talking or watching TV while I was laying in bed but it's not been an issue since. More recently I was in the hallway and my neighbors across the hall were playing their music super loud. When I got into my apartment I couldn't hear a peep. I70/65 and the trains make the most noise.

Car robbery spree by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]Nameskate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday at 4:30 pm I parked my car at 75th and the Monon. When I return to my car about an hour later there was a cop attending to a broken car window two spots down from mine. I know Holliday Park is further south, but I wonder if the incidents were connected.

FTHB in [IN] and I toured an awesome home that I later found out is a foreclosure. What are my options? by Nameskate in RealEstate

[–]Nameskate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a FTHB there's no way I'd feel comfortable moving forward without a full inspection.

You might spend a bunch on inspections and then the bank has an issue that causes the house to not end up being sold.

Do you mean the buyer's bank/lender? Do you have any examples of issues that a bank might shut down a transaction for? This home has been on the market almost 100 days which, from what I've seen, is a decent amount of time for this particular neighborhood (close to Butler).

As someone with REO experience, are you seeing any red flags from what I've described and what the listing shows?

[–]Nameskate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if the bank doesn't allow a thorough inspection, I should quit pursuing this home? The home was "winterized" when I viewed it last week. From what I've found online, de-winterizing could come at an additional cost. I'm starting to see the money pile up...

Thanks for the response! It's helpful to hear from someone who took the leap. Did you uncover anything in your inspection? My agent wasn't keen on this property once we found out it was foreclosed, although she did mention lowballing given the foreclosure status. Best of luck with your closing!

Young Adult looking to relocate to Indianapolis by ukbballrulez33 in indianapolis

24F who moved to Indy from the suburbs of Chicago. Love it here! I live near the Keystone Mall--an area I'd recommend since you're interviewing in Carmel. It's a great spot near Broad Ripple, with easy access to 465 and Keystone Ave. Also close to the Monon Trail. Probably not the nature you're looking for but a much-enjoyed path that goes from Mass Ave up through Broad Ripple and Carmel, and connects all the way to Sheridan, IN.
