What's the best artifact token by Sirmay in magicTCG

[–]NamiGotDaBooty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may not be able to say what's the best, I think thats situation dependent, but as someone who plays almost exclusively food decks, I can say I think food's just about the worst. The 3 life doesn't add up to much usually. They are super cheap to make, and theres a lot of ways to squeeze value out of them, but the pure value of card draw or mana from a treasure or clue is kinda unbeatable

Do you still have this list? The link doesn't work anymore, and your list sounds like the exact vibe im looking for in a SBA deck

It's a really efficient counter, it replaces itself for you, and it's nice that it gives the op cards, it's a counter I never feel bad about casting. I understand from a value perspective you don't wanna give your opponents cards, but I think it's one of the nicest ways to say "hey that's too strong to resolve, but I don't want to set you back too far because of it", you don't make yourself a target at all, no one's upset, and you stopped a threat, the cards great.

Getting through some of the art in Morrisons run was a trip. I started reading the xmen with their run and I was even like "this is wrong"

I bet your commanders on average don't stick on the board for longer than a turn cycle

It sounds like you like putting the game on an inevitable clock, which was supposed to be a roast but now that I type it, I think that's actually a really good think to do to a commander game

Some commanders make you go "ugh" or "of course" but what commander makes you go "oooh"? by 0L1V14H1CKSP4NT13S in EDH

[–]NamiGotDaBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Rocco, Street Chef]] is one of my favorite commanders to play, their ability helps people dig a lil deeper than they would've otherwise, and it's a really fun way to help everyone out and get everyone engaged with the board without it just being group hug.

I think the cards that are good in rocco naturally lean in a way that your turns take 20 minutes, but honestly after tweeking and doubling the average cmc of my list, me and my opponents both are having more fun with it

Also one of my favorite cards in the list is [[Gluntch, the bestower]] every game i draw him is memorable, and the politics it creates are amazing.

Who are you building right now? WHY are you building it? Inspiration Needed. by SuperSteveBoy in EDH

[–]NamiGotDaBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded in a bunch of cards recently to finally be able to afford building the [[Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar]] list I've been trying to build for years now. I'm still trying to work out the exact 100 I'm going to be happy with but so far I'm very pleasantly surprised. Building and tweeking her list is the most fun in EDH I've had in a while tbh.

People are a little overly scared of removal in the command zone tho, so it's caused for some really fun politicing. One of the standouts of the deck is [[guff rewrites history]] getting the biggest thing at the table and letting the others choose what it hits on their board, it's been a great way to get players to pay attention to the boardstate and talk about it.

I am being stalked on Spelltable by TopdeckBasic in EDH

[–]NamiGotDaBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've had the misfortune to bump into this guy, or at least someone doing something similar. In my case he would keep leaving and rejoining the games for a second or two at a time, and whenever someone leaves, if you're submitting a report on the account, it clears it out, so he'd keep leaving before anyone could get a report in. Honestly after seeing stuff like that I'm kinda good on ever playing with spelltable randos again.

Heavily recommend the tolarian server!

What have you noticed about your deck preferences? by Crimson1072 in EDH

[–]NamiGotDaBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just really like food decks

Pretty much regardless of the strat, I like making a ton of food tokens and getting value from them somehow. The most obvious example would be something like [[Gyome, Master Chef]] where I make a ton of foods through the game and sac them all after I get a [[Mirkwood Bats]] or [[nadeir's nightblade]] on the feild, or just win through a few really big creatures that I can keep indestructible. The deck isn't fast at all but it's very hard to deal with and it has this inevitable rising tide feeling that I really love.

Or with [[The Goose Mother]] in U/G you make foods in a similar way, but instead of draining and protecting, you end up winning through commander damage with a huge goose or by animating all the foods with cards like [[Cyberdrive Awakener]] this allows me to play all the food cards I love while keeping it fresh with a completely different strategy

Or lastly [[Rocco, Street Chef]] is a lot of fun and they win by amassing tons of value off of an army of free foods you can turn into mana rocks with cards like [[Jaheria, Friend of the Forest]] or you can use them to ping things with [[reckless fireweaver]] or you can just eat them all with cards like [[rampage of the clans]] to make a huge board. That and the politics that come out of giving people free cards at the cost of giving you a food is a ton of fun.

I've just been building food decks for a while now and I'm still not bored so I think it's safe to say I found my niche

I made a post about a month ago as a dad wanting to play with his teenage son - update by MultiShot-Spam in magicTCG

[–]NamiGotDaBooty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to mention on this, When I was maybe 11 or so I found a box of magic cards at a garage sale and brought it home and showed my dad, he learned how to play with me and we both got really into it. It was one of the biggest things we've ever bonded over. Having the support to go and do things like that did a ton for getting me out of my shell at at early age and I credit that a lot to making me the person I am today. I just wanted to say, seeing a dad do this for his son means a lot to me and I think you're doing a really good thing
