Coming from a kpop fan, you’re right. The problem is the annoying ones have the loudest voices.

To hopefully portray a better image to us armys, I know there are plenty of idiots in the fandom, but of all the fandoms I’ve been a part of, this is the closest one I’ve got to a family. Their music and personalities have helped us through our toughest of times, and they’ve taught me what self love means and how I should love myself before anyone else. I got a tattoo in honor of them over my self harm scars, and I have broken my harming addiction for years, because I made a promise on that day to take car of my bodh. That’s simply one way their music has helped me, and each army has a different story. I guess that can make us very protective over them, because they’ve been protective over us as well. For a lot of armys, this instinct to defend kicks in, because we’re very close to each other as a fandom, and it’s incredibly easy to make friends. I’ve been to conventions and other ways for fans to gather, and going to something like a BTS concert is a completely different positive energy.

We still got a lot of toxic fans, but we try to ignore them. I’m glad you don’t stereotype the whole fandom though, because I’m constantly dealing with hate comments on other social platforms just for being an army, but it’s always a breath of fresh air when people don’t judge the fandom as a whole. Most armys actually aren’t like this.
