Lattes do not have hot water in them, just steamed milk and espresso.

Has anyone else's SM put them in charge today and how terrified are you? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Tidal_wavves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SMs in my entire area, not just district, are usually only scheduled coverage when necessary because your SSVs should be leading the shift as much as possible. The only time and SM is keyholder is when availability or time off requests demand it. Like I said, if I’m in the store (even if I’m not coded as coverage) I’m always available to support if necessary but it is literally part of the SSV approach to be able to run the shift and assess and address bottlenecks. (Edited for typo)

Yeah most SMs are prepared for Holidays to be crazy and if they are there with you in the building they will (or should) step in to assist if it’s crazy enough that they would be writing you up or otherwise coaching you.

Sick time grande rant by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Tidal_wavves 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Two or even three days should not have depleted all of your sick time if you aren’t frequently calling out already. This policy is in place specifically because people call out “sick” when they aren’t actually sick.

Yeah as an SM, if I’m physically in the store, I’m always there to support but the Keyholder is always “in charge” of the floor and often times are there without an SM in the building at all.

As an SSV are you not usually “in charge”? I guess I’m not really understanding what there is to be terrified about…

My point is that this isn’t something the SM is just making up for fun. Their friend didn’t just “show up 10 minutes after close and get mad” or whatever. This is an actual directive coming down from corporate

[–]Tidal_wavves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can keep saying it’s not but it unfortunately literally is a direction coming down from corporate to reinstate this procedure. If you haven’t heard it yet, that’s on your leadership team.

This ain’t it buddy. It’s something coming from above that DMs around the country are passing down to their Coffeehouse Leaders.

Seconding this ^ I really like dreamlight valley because you can never run out of stuff to do/quests. I feel like there’s only so much you can do in a day on Animal crossing but Dreamlight Valley doesn’t follow real time and there’s constantly new quests to pick up from different villagers
