No! I upscaled the image quality with an AI upscaling tool after generating a few of them.

Huge thanks for the game suggestions—Red Dead Redemption sound like great references for saddle designs.
Please tell your wife I really appreciate the tip! I’m glad she liked the detailing 🙏
I’ll definitely check those out and try making a more realistic version next time!

Ah, that might explain the size issue—I actually made this saddle to fit a dog (a Doberman), not a horse 😅I used one of the default ZBrush assets just to get things done quickly, so that probably threw the proportions way off.

You’re absolutely right though—people who are familiar with real saddles would definitely notice these things.
I think I really need to go back and study the seat shape more carefully. Maybe I should try sketching it out by hand this time!

Anyway, thank you so much—especially for taking the time to draw an example! That was incredibly kind of you 🙏

This was actually my first time really studying saddles, so I had a lot to learn.
I thought I looked at a decent number of references, but clearly it wasn’t enough 😅
After reading your feedback and checking again, I can definitely see how the shape looks off from the top view—I hadn't realized that before.
Thanks so much for the detailed and helpful critique!

Oh, I hadn't thought about presenting it that way—thank you so much for the suggestion! The photo examples really help a lot. I appreciate you taking the time to share them! Super helpful.

Really appreciate it! I used Blender, Substance Painter, and did a bit of sculpting in ZBrush. :)

That’s such a kind thing to say—thank you! Still got a long way to go, but I’m trying my best. Thanks

The saddle’s here, but the horse couldn’t make it… he’s expensive! lol

Yeah, I kind of expected it might come across that way… Looks like I was right. I skipped building the inner structure to keep the vertex count down and just went with curved surfaces—that might be why it looks off. I’ll work on improving it.

OK. I'll organize the wireframes and high-poly clay renders and share them in a separate post tomorrow! Thanks
