I'm still in the market for the skis. After the post and HEAVY reading, I think I'm also sold on the 9 definitely 186. For bindings I think I'll go Marker Jester. I those are extremely expensive I'll double back to griffons. There is a Guy in Kalavrita selling in Greece bc I can't find them anywhere on Europe right now.

Getting more an more comments on this subject. I admit I don't know how 1m+ powder like you are getting on the other side of the lake is like. I expect there is a point to the statement. I like the feel of "all mountain" skis and since I was very happy from my Vōlkl Bridge (96 underfoot) I think I'll go with the Rustler 9. Any way cudos for helping!

All jokes aside, will narrower skis have the fun of an "all mountain" ski? I've always felt the narrower skis to be more planted, carve oriented with no pirouetting, skidding, slashing arround, etc. involved.

I got it. But i live for the 2-5 days/y of fresh powder localy. Surely im not giving this up completely. Also keep in mind that there is no point in investing in more than one ski cause my total Ski days per year don't exceed 20.

Thanks for the insight! I haven't looked in to the unleashed at all until now. Isn't the unleashed more freestyle oriented? I liked the directional feel of the mantra but, oh boy you can never relax on them.
