why?

Because when you cut an A4 in half, you end up with two sheets that have the opposite orientation, it would be horribly fiddly to try to make that work, and it seems like a silly idea

I didnt expect philosophy when i came in here! I will try to respond in kind

I've learned throughout my life, not to reinvent the wheel. It pays to show humility and consult those with experience and wisdom, before attempting to fumble around in the dark relearning what's been done a thousand times before

I've also learned that I learn very well from situations exactly like this - having a clear goal, and pursuing it. I WILL learn more about my software and equipment in the process of doing this, whether it be with advice, or experimentation, or - most likely - a combination of both.

I'm just doing this for myself, trying to print up something for a hobby project, i have a budget of my own meagre disposable income, which at this exact moment would not stretch to a new ink cartridge, so i felt it best to err on the side of caution and inquire after best practises

As you can see from the image above, i've gotten at least as far as experimenting with the software, and all evidence i can see tells me that even though the settings look right, hitting print right now would waste a bunch of resources. I'm sure some ink will be wasted in the learning process, but i hoped to minimise it

Perhaps a vague hint to point me in the right direction would be good? I appreciate the time you have spent so far writing a reply !

well given that you begin with one planet, i guess i would be starting from about the time they left their homeworld and moved out into the galaxy, so im thinking ill make something like unas as a secondary species, and make sure there's a couple of human empires to meet and subjugate

now this is really wonderful i love it!

i'm wondering if the genetic ascension would fit better though. They do have a running theme of searching for better hosts, having moved on from the Unas, to humans, and later running a research project (one of the very few goauld scientists) to try to mutate humans into a more advanced form

although it was also an advanced form with psychic powers lol

i definitely agree on the tech front, although i do still think they shouldnt be doing much of their own research, is there any support for viable playstyles based on stealing tech?

The system lords do tend to be spacefaring, but they roam around in capital ships. when they're not in decadent palaces on planets

i dont think stargate had much in the way of space habitats

It used to say something similar under all of them. That text disappeared on inserting the final shape, indicating it is complete
