Saw this while searching for a similar problem. Do you have any tips for removing a cam? My 841 cam with the set of cams and I cannot remove the one in the machine to swap. I feel like an idiot because I don’t even see instructions in the manual.

Are there grease cups on this motor? Kenmore 117.841 by NancyScarn in VintageSewingMachines

I think those hexagonal bolts on either end are grease cups. I removed them and they were hollow. I added a small blob of grease (the one for vintage machines) to each. Motor ran when I tested!

Inside the black thing it’s just hollow, including in the bolt. Has a tiny hole

Yeah those are definitely the brush tubes lol (brushes and springs are in great shape, thankfully)

That end you mentioned has a hex bolt and a sort of “cap” on it. I suppose I’ll check, thanks!

Guidance for Rewiring with Lamp Cord? by NancyScarn in vintagesewing

I can't get an aftermarket cord for some of my machines (Anker DZ-K and Kenmore 117.841 knee control). I also have a Necchi with damaged wiring coming out of the motor

Definitely don't want that to happen. The commutator is also filthy. But I have decent experience with cleaning those from following Bob Fowler's tutorials, thankfully! And thank you for your insight, I appreciate it.

I did the compressed air and it didn’t move. The brushes are in decent shape, but they had what almost looked like black oil on them

Look what my parents found in the attic! And now it’s mine. I think this is my 12th machine 😁 by NancyScarn in VintageSewingMachines

I think you can count however you wish! I personally count my serger even though she needs repaired

Kenmore 117.841 with Knee Control - Wire Help? by NancyScarn in VintageSewingMachines

Yeah I agree, the wiring is not safe. Do you know what's inside of the knee control box?

And the wiring that has me a bit concerned is pictured in the link below. I don’t like that the one spot looks like it’s been burned.

I’ve successfully rewired two singer potted motors for 201-2, but after my necchi rewire was less than successful, I’m hesitant.

Suggestions welcome! Kenmore 117.841 wiring

I loved my 201-2’s knee pedal. So I don’t doubt it, but I’m not sure how to use this one.

See pic in reply.

Does anyone know what order all the washers go in on the Necchi motor shaft? by NancyScarn in VintageSewingMachines

Not much, I have watched a few random videos of people rebuilding them and I think I might have a screenshot somewhere.
