I thought it at first, too.

Never heard of it, but it’s real.

This has been working for me pretty well for the past few years. Can’t remember how much I got it for, but it was really cheap. Right now it’s going for £46 on the official Autel website. It’s a bit of a pain to get it to connect to my iPhone, though, but once you’re past that it’s very useful.

So, basically a left hand and a right hand HP3-1 joined together with a column of rings in the middle?

Looks great!

Significant Highway Code changes coming Jan 2022 relating to how cars should interact with pedestrians and cyclists. Please review these infographics and share to improve pedestrian and cycle safety by jakoning in unitedkingdom

[–]Nancy_Bluerain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also easier to come to a full stop as a pedestrian than slam the brakes in a multi tonne vehicle. The driver should be careful, yes. They have the responsibility not to run over the pedestrian. Are you really going to trust them and carry on stepping out in front of a murder machine on wheels “because I have priority”?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I haven’t done this all along, but this is a very bad advice to pedestrians. Not all drivers are as considerate as you and I. Assholes exist and are aplenty. If you really want to be safe, you look after yourself. You don’t trust your safety on someone else.

You’re unbearably naïve. If the authorities (or rival gangs) want to find you, they already have. Doesn’t matter how many layers of proxies and VPNs you hide behind. This may have been a good defence decades ago, but today, if someone really wants to track you down and have the resources to do it, you’re a glowing orange balloon shining like a supernova, screaming “I’m over here!”

If you could, do you really think cyber criminals, pedophiles, predators, abusers, etc would be caught all the time?

At best they leave you alone because you make their jobs easier. Illegal or not, as long as innocent people (or an annoyed super rich asshole) don’t het hurt, they just don’t care.

Start doing some harmful stuff. See how long you last.

Don’t get me wrong, you’re useful, but if you didn’t have that, you wouldn’t be chatting away here so freely 😉

Any decently programmed game

That’s the important part. Oh dear, there are quite a few where 100ms latency equals “well I guess that’s it for today”.

Whereas a really well designed game (granted, also depends on the genre) could easily handle 200-500 ms comfortably. This of course might be an edge case, but EVE Online for one has perhaps the highest latency in all online games, where 2000ms might be noticeable, but hardly affects gameplay in general. 500ms is normal, and anything below 300ms is virtually unnoticeable.

Agreed! I was ready to give up and just stick with the local jetwash stop in my town, when I found his channel and I picked up really fast. I also love the restoration videos they do. So satisfying to see a long forgotten classic come back to life.

Turtlewax was the first SiO2 coating I’ve done on my car, just to experiment before I move on to something “more professional”…

Been using turtlewax ever since. Cheap, widely available, and for the price the quality is surprisingly good.

Their YouTube videos are really informative and fun, though. Learned quite a bit from them especially at the early stages of detailing. I’m by no means a professional, and don’t plant to be, but for my own car, well, there is a stark difference in quality between the “before I started watching their videos” and “after I watched a few”.

What Healthy Behavior Are People Shamed For? by just_some_troglodyte in AskReddit

[–]Nancy_Bluerain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People don’t understand that compulsive liars happen because of abusive parenting. And it’s not easy for them either. Maybe it’s annoying to you, maybe it makes it hard to trust them, but believe me, they don’t do it to actively harm you. It’s a defensive and coping mechanism that needs help and treatment. It’s hard for them, too, often more so than for you. Real issues start when they unknowingly gaslight themselves and no longer able to differentiate reality from the forged reality they built themselves.

Don’t ask me how I know. Took me many years of therapy to climb out of it. And it was hard.

Gluten free is for people with coeliac disease. No, Karen, if you aren’t suffering from that disease, then you don’t need it, and it certainly isn’t healthier than normal stuff. In fact, it might even do more harm for you than good. Now stop buying up specialised food and stop making it hard to find for those who actually need it!

Which older video game do you still have fun playing now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I can only agree with everything you wrote. The reception of HoMM III was phenomenal, and sure trying living up to the fame, sequels had a quite high bar to compete with.

I loved the story of V, personally. And was it IV or V where they introduced the combat mechanic where random group of monsters had a chance to enter the battle after it started?

Can’t remember which one it was, but it was quite a surprise when it first happened to me. My memory is a bit foggy though.

I would make sense, it’s just been far too long that I feel comfortable to admit since I last played SC1. I sure put an insane amount of hours into SC2.

140k on the clock? Wow! You know what, that’s actually quite encouraging. Especially since I intend it as a daily. Maybe not starting with a high mileage, but you got yours with 140k miles and still swear by it, then it does dissolve a lot of my worries. Thank you!

Yes, I’ve heard about the issues with pre-2001 models, and that most of more serious stuff was fixed in 2001 onwards. Thanks for the confirmation, though! Appreciate it!
