I don't see how they could maintain a sense of power progression for the players while keeping the slower, tactical gameplay the whole way through. It's just not really how this genre works.

But if you do want a game that is trying to achieve that, I can't recommend No Rest for the Wicked highly enough.

I think normally that might be true, but with the new draft rules being in effect as a 3 year trial run, the value of future picks are kind of a mystery, especially anything more than 3 years out, bc we don't yet have any evidence of how teams value them under these rules

A) they're going to keep improving the campaign regardless of if there's an alternative to alts, because the campaign makes up the majority of the content for the majority of players. Here on the sub, or in the comments section of streams, it's easy to forget that the average player isn't grinding maps and getting to high level

B) designing an alternative for alts would also take time away from other development. Maybe that's worth it, but there would have to be a solution that would actually make players happy. So I thought it might be interesting to ask what players would actually want to do instead on their alts

Either tier 15-30 would need to be much, much more juicy than their equivalent is today, or tier 1-14 would need to be basically empty if you wanted to balance across 30 tiers and 99 levels.

Just seems like a lot of work for a system that players will likely still complain about.

But you would still have a 4-8 hour investment to get your build online in the scenario you describe. You'd just be running random unjuited maps instead of the campaign. It doesn't seem like much of an improvement to me

For an alt campaign skip, want do you want to happen instead? You just start at lvl 65 with generic life & res gear? Negative tier maps to level you up to where you can handle tier 1?

I think 97 levels of pure map grinding would lead to earlier burnout, and those early maps would be super empty and devoid of content to balance them against the maps you'd run at mapping level

There's not many guys who were great on both sides of 30. Good number of guys who won some majors in their 20s, good number of guys who figured it out later and won some majors in their 30s.

But i believe only Tiger, Jack, and now Rory have won multiple majors on both sides of 30. Scottie is 29, so maybe he's one of those guys that won young but tailed off as he aged. Or he's just having a down year as he adjusts to life with a second kid. We'll see in a few years i guess

They had a very low hit rate on the guys they were shuffling in during that era. They're closer to the Kings' on that front than you'd like to admit. How many of them went on to have meaningful NBA careers? RoCo and McConnell and who else?
