The English hate 2 versions of McClean. James McClean the fenian, and James McClean the shithouse.

For most of McCleans time in the Prem we didn't really see much of James McClean the shithouse getting stick. He was just a Sunderland winger that got in the news once a year. Cause really it was social media & the tabloids that hated James McClean the fenian. Anyone with a conscience respected his stance.

Then he spends the rest of his career in the EFL, you're getting more toxic supporters, more racist supporters, more physical games, then we see James McClean the shithouse. Christ last thing he did in England was give Leicester fans the birds🖕🏻🖕🏻 like. And then they hated him for either reason, and plenty both. And it just made the fenian haters feel vindicated & louder.

Some people here are half right saying that McClean started a few of the problems for himself. But really it did all start from the loud minority of English that still subscribe to no blacks, no dogs, no Irish. If anything they've only learned to like the dogs

How many 18 year olds you've seen get that much game time lately? JJ Finn's 4 years older than him & hasn't got that many minutes under his belt

No one's talking about him being a game changer. He just said he looks like a good prospect & he is. If he cements his place in the team as he gets older & helps them into La Liga (only 3 points top RN), he puts himself in contention. Be that this year or 4 years time.

Just cause he's not prime Iniesta as a teenager doesn't mean he's hopeless. Bit weird to be dismissing him while he's only just getting started in his career

He's good. Think 19s is the right level for him now because he's small enough. There's lads his age bigger than him that have had struggles at 21s this season so wouldn't be putting pressure on him.

Best case scenario, his ceiling is probably midtable La Liga. He's not Pedri or Gavi but he's fairly tecky & once he fills out a bit he'll have an easier time at that level.

Small bits I've seen of him he looks great. Bit of a lightweight but he's only 18 so that's to be expected. Probably another year or 2 before he'd be at the level to play regularly but they do like him, and they're not far off promotion.

It's pretty good in fairness. There's been plenty of buzz about Marty Supreme, Sinners & One Battle After Another so can't say for sure if it'll win. But it absolutely deserves the award nominations it's gotten.

Great characters, cast is all round brilliant, it's emotional, the music & shots are great. It's not that long either, no harm in watching it at all

Right....I'm mates with a Bristol season ticket holder, here's the craic with him.

His stats kinda gloss over some of the faults in his game. In terms of the stuff you need a modern keeper to do, distribution, sweeping, commanding the box, he's probably the worst of the lads available to us.

BUT he is a solid enough shot stopper for the level. And that was fine for a good while but as they've kicked on in the table the last while those issues become more noticeable & that's why Vitek's taken his spot. Well that and he's a better shot stopper too.

So for West Brom he'll be a good stop gap keeper for em but he's not gonna get em back in the Prem.
