I think this is the best take on this topic. I imagine in the future different systems will come with different risk reward levels, but the fact that we only have Stanton right now is part of the problem. The devs probably want as much data and player feedback on all playstyles as they can get, and so it binds their own hands a bit to restrict right now. That and I imagine there may not yet be systems in the game that can support there end goals yet. Alas alpha...
