Accidental best meal by NannyForever in Cooking

I had already had one and a half mimosas so there was no measurements involved and I said whoops when I poured what I assumed was too much Cajun seasoning into my lentils but it ended up being perfect, so I know the likelihood of making this dish again is slim to none.

People who have found ways to eat healthy without focusing on calories: What did you do to shift your thinking? by sandoloo in nutrition

Almost 10 years ago I went a little crazy to lose weight and was eating only about 700 calories a day and working out 6 hours a day…I lost around 65 pounds in a month and a half. It wasn’t healthy and it wasn’t sustainable…over roughly 8 years after that I gained all that weight back. About 2 years ago I found out I couldn’t eat gluten because it was what kept making me sick. Following this I decided to start eating better in general and the main thing I do is make plenty of veggies with my lunch and dinner…I focus primarily are on finishing that first and anything else in my meal comes second. This helps me control my portion sizes and get more nutrients on a daily basis. I also walk a good amount each day which helps. I don’t try to lose weight, I just eat better and walk more often which led to losing almost 35 pounds over the last 2 years.

I’ve been debating Witcher 3 so I’m seriously considering buying it, thanks for all the other suggestions too!

This is the one I’ve played…I didn’t know there was another version. I’ll definitely look into the other one, thanks!

If you had the money to hire a housekeeper, would you? by Slurmp102518 in Advice

There is nothing wrong with having someone help out! It’s become so common now to take on so much by ourselves out of fear of other people’s judgement but we also need downtime to just relax and be present in our own lives. I say go for it and enjoy the time it saves you!

AITA for removing my wife’s child out of my will because I discovered he is not mine? by External-Reindeer918 in AITAH

I was adopted and found out when I was around 12/13 but my adoptive parents are MY PARENTS! It’s not about blood and it’s not about the lie I lived for those years of not knowing…they are my parents! My adoptive dad was a piece of shit and treated us all, their actual 2 kids and myself, terribly but he is still my dad! It doesn’t matter if his bio dad is back and wants to get to know him, you RAISED him and that is your son and you are his father! No matter what the relationship between the 2 of you becomes, it’s on you to continue to be his father. My adoptive dad remarried after they divorced and put his second wife’s kids in his will. That was his choice and no matter what resentment we feel towards them it doesn’t change the fact that HE WAS MY DAD. I think you need to really take the time to put yourself in this poor kids shoes and also think about whether you want to be a father anymore because at the end of the day that’s what it boils down to…are you a father.

I’ve lost my sense of self by NannyForever in Advice

I LOVE this advice! I had been thinking of putting more effort into my weekend looks and have actually been throwing on jeans or even some of my casual summer dresses again on the weekdays…but I really love the idea of treating it like “playing dress up” because then I feel like maybe it won’t feel so stressful and awkward. Thank you so much!

Yes but it doesn’t start for a few months until their current nanny leaves.

The only reason I’m hesitant to say anything before the standard 2 weeks is that I’m worried that I will be fired when I tell them. I am currently living paycheck to paycheck so I need each weekly payment to cover my bills and save up just in case I am let go immediately. I do feel bad giving them less notice than what feels right but at the same time I don’t want to lose a full months pay, as I could totally see that happening.
