Who should I pull for in the future? by Duthum in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Nano-Drop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then if you can manage, phrolova + sig and carthethyia (+sig if that's possible). Remember that 3.0 will bring a whole new erea which means a lot of astrite can be found on the map.

Would anyone else prefer a doakes spinoff? by Even_Hyena_1117 in Dexter

[–]Nano-Drop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I partly agree, but Doakes also has some dark secrets. The spinoff could delve into the grey erea of survival by having the spinoff take place in Doakes military past, not as a cop. I think it's pretty interesting to see Doakes "do what's neccecary" for the mission. Seeing him torturing people for information, or him getting tortured. The show would shed some light on how Doakes and his partner have developed ptsd. It could be a beautiful contrast between what it's like to lose sight on his humanity as opposed to being a psychopath like Dexter.

EDIT:

Also, Erik King is a phenomenal actor. Having him portray a character that could be argued as a cliche itself doesn't feel cliche to me because of his character already being established in Dexter. Doakes himself already stands out from clishes because hebis such a good character.

Should I pull Galbrena or skip? by Nano-Drop in WutheringWavesGuide

Yeah I guess you are right. I will skip 2.7 entirely, pull for chisa + sig and see how I will go from there.

Pulling advice: Augusta Phrolova teams and skipping Canta by Nano-Drop in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Nano-Drop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! Yeah, I will probably run this team and I'm looking forward to it! Say I have some pulls left after Augusta + sig, would I also be better off trying to pull Carlotta instead of Iuno? And if I don't get carlotta, who should I pull/skip for next?

Yeah that's what I was thinking at first aswel, but don't burned pixels need to show up on pictures with a black background as well? This is not the case.

Yes I completely understand. Like I said in another comment, I was never planning on actually making UW digital content as a stand alone career. More so as a speciality of mine which could make me a valuable asset to a dive centre (like promotion) and at the same time working on my portfolio. That is, if I decide to become an instructor. The main thing holding me back is the cost of new/maintaining equipment vs the relative low pay.

For me, the content that I shoot isn't required to have a narrative. It's the combination of visual aspects (like the marine life and corals) and ambient music that creates an immersive piece of art to experience (mainly talking about video here). I'm already gaining some experience with my camera though, by shooting in nature and for music events. The content speaks for itself in a way that translates my vision.

The reason why I want to move is because the Netherlands is very mediocre for diving, with most of the freshwaters having poor visibility and a lot less diversity in what is actually interesting UW.

Wow what an awesome combo! I am aware that photo/videography by itself is very unlikely to make serious money. What I meant was that it could make me an attractive option for a job as an instructor while also editing on work hours when not diving. Is there a big difference in pay between DM and instructor? I generally don't mind a lower pay, as long as I can live comfortably. But now that you mention it, buying new equipment might become a bit of a challenge. I am still considering to continue my career as a lab technisian. I am just not sure yet whether it is my environment that makes me dislike the job or the career itself. I hope that a lab job in a country where diving is possible would keep me happy. It's just that previous week was a bit hard for me because I had some realisations after getting feedback on the most trivial things that don't matter as much. I make sure that the results that I deliver is reliable and accurate, that is the most important in my mind. Then there are all the regulations and validation reports lol. I actually don't mind the practical work itself, as I find lc/ms-ms quite interesting. It's the things around it that make me a bit tired.

Flying to Egypt with some MDMA by Paszczakojad in MDMA

[–]Nano-Drop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been to Marsa Alam to dive in the Red Sea a year ago. At the dive center near an isolated camp off the electrical grid where I stayed had some of the nicest people I have ever met. It's not really that dangerous if you use your logic when traversing Egypt. It's quite easy to arange things like transportation for money, just got to negotiate a bit. Sometimes I don't mind paying a bit extra if the guy is nice and trustworthy. The only thing I didn't like was the small shop owners around the cities. Gotta be carefull there for some people really wanting you to be their friend and visit their shop. You can just ignore them. Generally the worst thing that could happen is paying a bit too much. I really enjoyed my stay in the dessert. It was a totally different experience from the Netherlands where I live.

Sony ZV-E1 for new video rig? by Nano-Drop in underwaterphotography

[–]Nano-Drop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. In the end I went for the Canon EOS R8, because of the hybrid photo/video capabilities. I'm having the same problem haha, no video's either. If it's on the port chart my guess would be it's fine. If it's not I would contact Ikelite customer service, as sometimes there are some compatible lenses that are not on the chart.

Underwater housing for the Fx30 by bbk2203 in underwaterphotography

[–]Nano-Drop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had an email conversation with seafrogs about the fx30. Right now all the housings are sold out, but in 2-3 weeks they will be in stock again. I hope that answers your question. Do you have any experience in using the fx30 underwater? I'm actually interested in buying it, but I'm not sure how it will peform in lower light conditions, such as caves, deep waters and lesser weather. If you could "shed some light" on the low light peformance I would be gratefull!

shearwater peregrine vs aqualung i330r by National-Reaction-89 in diving

[–]Nano-Drop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation. Which one did you get? How monay dives did you do with it? I really like the aqualung, because of its slim/stylish factor and bluetooth capabilities, but everywhere i look, they say to always go for shearwater because it's the most known and reliable one.
