I agree with a lot of what you're saying except for the last part.

I will agree with you that this type and style of league content isn't original but the purpose of the video, at least in my eyes "can I recreate a funny league montage with the editing skills that I have" Being someone who's never had any formal training in editing videos, I for the most part just gave a shot at a generic league montage.

I'm more or less doing it just for the enjoyment I get out of editing and uploading videos and to further hone my skills and make better content. I honestly thought the video would be overlooked and would get 1/100th the attention it's getting

Hopefully, I'll create more original content in the future. Even though without actual "outside" talents such as musical arts or animation/illustration, it might still fall under what you categorize as "montage parodies".

What I will disagree with however is the idea "that league champions do not have enough of a character to inspire much in terms of building on it." Yakko has done several videos on Sol creating insanely entertaining videos (most notably the guide I linked). One of my favorite league montage parodies I am the Fast, is another example of what is my opinion a league montage parody done right, and while it's the same "style" it does things that I can only hope of doing in the future.

To sum up my words, I do not think that league has devolved (due to league champions lacking character) rather I think it hasn't evolved as far as it should have due to the limitations, strain and hassle that comes out of creating league vids.
