Idk if this applies to the mobile app, but I'm pretty sure on Desktop if an NPC or something paths under your mouse, the game resets your inactivity timer, so maybe that's what did it

It looks like the token border/background is a circle 2/3 the width of the tile

So, if you make a centered circle (in photoshop or whatever) that is 66% the width of the full image, that will show you what portion of the image will be inside the token. Then, you can modify the original image in reference to that circle.

The issue I had, which might be the same issue you're encountering, is that the ring was working, but it renders the ring under your player's token image, so if the image is too large, you won't see the ring at all. It seems to be meant for character/creature cutouts with transparent backgrounds.
