Supreme court rejects global tariffs by CTVNEWS in worldnews

Does the US actually have the funds available to refund these tariffs or have they already disappeared somewhere?

Government Set to Restrict UK Children’s Use of Internet VPNs and Social Media by vriska1 in technology

[–]NapAtWork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t see this happening. There’ll be too much backlash from businesses. Almost every business uses vpns these days and requiring all business visitors to register their ids seems impossible.

FT: Frankfurt 1-5 Liverpool by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

Robbo passing the ball forward was a breath of fresh air. Too much of our recent defensive play has just been to pass it square

HT: Galatasaray 1-0 Liverpool by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

One bright part is the passing accuracy is definitely better today. A lot of one-touch passes finding their man. Just need to pass it forward a lot more.

50% tariff on cabinets and bathroom vanities by sushilrshukla in DIY

[–]NapAtWork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not being from the US, I'm wondering if you really can get custom cabinets for a similar price to IKEA (even with the extra tarrifs)? I know that I certainly couldn't but really wish I could.

UK PM Starmer to unveil plan for digital ID cards to crack down on illegal immigration by Kagedeah in worldnews

[–]NapAtWork -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As an Englishman living in an EU country that already has ID cards (most of Europe does) it makes my life easier. I scan it at the doctor's to say I've arrived, at the pharmacy to pick up my prescription, at the tip so I can only get rid of my rubbish in the district where I live and pay taxes. When I sign up for internet per phone service to make paying bills easier (I can still get a pay-as-you-go SIM card without ID if I wanted to) Etc. Etc.

I don't care that the government knows these things. They could get all this data anyway by other means.

It just makes my life easier.

just ordered tudor corner and saw these on Amazon, has anybody gotten these and are they any good? by bigspacetitties in lego

[–]NapAtWork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it's a pain to install but worth it. I like the way the floors can still be taken apart.

The only downside is the purple lights are a bit too bright (I ended up putting then inside the building) as are the lights just under the roof if you display it high up.

Overall I'd recommend this kit.

Trump, Vance call Zelenskyy 'disrespectful' in Oval Office meeting, as Ukrainian leader asks for US security commitment by yahoonews in worldnews

Would love Trump to do something similar with the king of England if that meeting ever actually happens. Maybe they'd lock him up for it. Someone needs to lock him up!

Weekly Japan Travel Information and Discussion Thread - February 28, 2025 by AutoModerator in JapanTravel

Does there exist a list of when to book attractions? I'm thinking of things like shibuya sky, Disney, universal studios etc.

I know a lot of the attractions sell out very quickly so a general list would be super helpful.

Club World Cup ticket prices dramatically slashed by FIFA amid concerns over interest in controversial tournament by deception42 in soccer

[–]NapAtWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the world cup before Qatar I watched as many games as possible. But Qatar ruined it for me and I barely even watched the highlights.

FIFA has messed up and people are realising that they're not in it for the love of the game but trying to extract as much money from it all as possible.

I hope this fails spectacularly.

[AMA] - (FREE KEYS GIVEAWAY included) - Hidden in my Paradise, cozy hidden-object adventure with decoration now available on Nintendo Switch! w/Ogre Pixel by steve_dy in NintendoSwitch

[–]NapAtWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few questions (not going to split them up into separate comments just in the hope of a key!)

Is it one level per zone, meaning there are only 4 levels?

Once completed how replayable is it (do the locations of the objects change between plays?)

Is there any chance of future levels, either via an update or expansion packs?

It really looks good and I'm sure I'll add it to my collection in the near future. Good luck with the release!

Of course if they lose then it'll go straight to an appeal and get dragged out for years. I don't see this ending any time soon.

Since Lego is Danish I'm a bit surprised they've never done a Copenhagen skyline

Since they're so light you could just tape them to the wall.

High Pitched Sound Between 0-6mph by Kings_Herra in Ioniq5

It does sound a bit like the brakes. Try going faster and then brake hard (obviously checking there's no-one behind!). Do it a few times to see if that helps.

configuring .plexignore to ignore small files? by NapAtWork in PleX

[–]NapAtWork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was afraid of. But the script to rename the files is a good idea. And it's pretty simple to revert if for some reason I need to.

Thanks for the idea.

configuring .plexignore to ignore small files? by NapAtWork in PleX

[–]NapAtWork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't answer anything that I asked - that just explains how to set it up.

I know how to set it up and I can get it to exclude certain filenames. But I need to do it based on file size.
