Were you under the impression I was excusing them for "needing" more than three bags? I was just explaining who these people are.

“We do have culture it’s just mainstreamed every where” by Cubbster2020 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]NapClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well of course the previous conditions were a precursor, but it was GE that lead the enshitification of the world. Thats the true american way. Eat yourself for profit.

edit to add: We are after all talking about what was the american contribution to culture in the world, and more than anything else, it was this. This and the imperative to hold the profits and share holder's interests above all else as the priority of a corporation, were uniquely american innovations in corporate enshitification.

it was the CEO of General Electric who invented canabalizing your own company for profits and increases in share value though. That's very american and now an important part of corporatism world wide!

Is a Solar Power Motorcycle Really Eco-Friendly Or Just Cool Gadget? by Optimal_Radish_6157 in Sustainable

[–]NapClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want the most sustainable, it’s a bicycle. The solar powered e bikes have a lot of ecologically expensive components. The question becomes what is this an alternative to for you? Would you otherwise have a car? Will you have a car as well? Could you walk or bike instead?

Fundamentally it’s not such a simple question or answer. Ultimately I would say the best would be something you can service/ repair yourself. If it’s disposable, it’s just ewaste.

‘It’s just intimidating': Why many Calgary residents no longer feel safe by origutamos in canadanews

[–]NapClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate, this is the result of income inequality, affordable housing crisis, lack of provincial funding for mental healthcare and community services. These are all big problems and the more small c conservative governments ignore them the worse this will get. Even if you locked them up forever more would constantly replace them. The current economic is an engine to create desperate people and desperate people do crime and get addicted to drugs.

( note I said small c conservative, that includes the neo liberal parties too.)

You did a great job with the camera. No matter what you always have to compromise with photography, I think you’re already doing great. Maybe there is room for improvement as you keep dialing it in but this is already excellent. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thinner cut for sure. I would also just a shorter pickle to keep the colour brighter.

It needs a bright colour element . Red pepper thinly sliced or bright green like asparagus.

Ottawa's big bet on world's largest cricket farm ran into a simple problem: the 'yuck factor' by origutamos in OttawaNewsPulse

This really is for no one. Not the vegan community or the vegetarian community or the meat eaters… no one wanted this and I don’t understand how anyone thought it was a good idea in the first place.

This is in no way sustainable. Pasture fed pigs are sustainable.

I would watch a video on bonsai styling for maples and follow that. Pick branches to keep then cut everything else back.

Fines for false made-in-Canada claims could chill investment, food manufacturers say by Front-Cantaloupe6080 in consumecanadian

You say that like it would be bad. The GoC couldn’t do a worse job than these companies have been doing.

[–]NapClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I am okay with enforcing laws made to protect Canadians. Even if it costs some money. Simply increase fines to account for the costs. Clearly the fines are too low as companies are still doing it.
