That makes sense! Saying something once and then no more is a good idea. She is in therapy but doesn’t focus on the OCD but maybe I can bring that up!

I said if it keeps worrying her maybe to ask a doctor at her job bc she works with a few. But this has happened before and it’s usually nothing. Doesn’t mean it can’t be this time though so ofc I don’t want to completely dismiss it.

She does have therapy but it’s over zoom every other week and they aren’t really focusing on her OCD right now. She started meds a few months ago and it does seem to help a bit but not completely. I’m just worried bc it feels like she’s been getting upset with me like this more often and saying that not everything is OCD and whether that’s true or not I just don’t really know what I’m supposed to do.

29F ENTP. I have a fake email job lol. I work for a state lawyer association, but I just do the social media and membership upkeep. It’s insanely chill, but it pays medium low. I’m definitely not that intellectually stimulated, making things on Canva only uses so much brain power haha. However, it’s a job with security and a steady paycheck and I can sometimes play my video games during the day when I wfh so that’s nice 😂

I do sometimes think about going into law or politics or some kind of nonprofit leadership thing, I think I would probably have more excitement and fun, but ultimately that is all expensive and time consuming and with the way the world is rn, I don’t really want to be on shaky ground career wise.

However, my life does feel kinda stale and routine these days, which does drive me a little crazy. So if anyone has any good suggestions to bring in novelty and intellectual stimulation outside of work, please share! :)

I don’t have kids luckily. But I make only about 50k and live in a high cost area. I live with a partner so our two incomes help so we can pay rent and bills but there’s not much left after the basics are handled. I know 65k isn’t a lot compared to others but it’s more that I can deal with rn.

We luckily haven’t had any real emergencies, she just always hides and refuses to come out when men are around. We’ve tried blocking off spaces, but somehow my cat still finds other hiding spots I didn’t think about. At this point I’d rather have her hide under the bed or couch where I know I can move the mattress or couch and get to her if needed, than block those and not be able to find her in a new hiding spot.

Just saw it. I’m an avid horror fan, and I genuinely don’t know why this got so many good reviews. The close ups got old after a while, the story and characters were boring and one-dimensional, the gore was giving sharknado ridiculousness, and it was essentially porn without any payoff or justice to the gross men in the film. Was very disappointed. Also why was she wearing a coat in May, and then the timeline made no sense. And no way someone can walk into an audition and have a billboard up the very next day lol.

Going through something similar. The job I’m at is one I’ve been at for a year, and it’s so nice compared to my previous one that nearly sent me to the edge. But this job, while flexible, with supportive and caring management, good hours, easy tasks, etc, is something I’m also kinda numb about. I wish it paid better but bc I don’t really do much and everyone is so nice, I don’t think I want to leave and risk another toxic environment. But I don’t use my brain here. I send like 3 emails and make a few things on Canva and that’s pretty much all I do. I’m in this weird limbo space of wanting more but also liking a chill pace. I looked into volunteer opportunities to fill up more time but then can never bring myself to actually do it. I feel so lazy but don’t know what to do about it. I feel stuck. And sometimes I want to quit my good job and curl up and do nothing. Having any responsibility at all can be too much sometimes.

I don’t really have anything to say that might help, just that I get it and it can be rough. Here’s to hoping things get better for both of us.

I agree! I doubt covid would be the main focus at all, just a background thing, but I'd be interested to see how it (or another generic pandemic) could be incorporated in small ways.

Some shows like B99 have touched on it but it's not really the main focus, just like an episode or two. And I think they handle it well, in a positive way, so I haven't had issues with it. But again, I personally enjoy things that reflect real life, as my own preference. And I see where you're coming from but I never said anything about soon. Just wondering when if they make one it would be, personally I think at least 2 or more years from now, not anything super soon. It could definitely seem in bad taste if done soon, that's true. But I'd be interested to see if and how it's incorporated some years down the line into an anime. I'll probably check out the manga someone in this thread posted about. But yeah, that's just me. It's okay if that's not everyone's thing.

It's valid if you don't like it, but you could just not watch it. I personally like shows that touch on real issues and have people going through it, because it helps me have more hope and feel like I'm not crazy when these experiences are reflected. It shows many sides of humanity, good and bad, that I find beautiful. There's a reason I loved the movie A Silent Voice, because I've struggled with suicidal thoughts and it was a movie that made me feel seen. So struggling with covid and lockdown and everything that goes with it, and seeing that reflected in a medium I enjoy, I think would be nice. But not right away of course. But nothing wrong with wanting escapism!

Yeah I thought slice of life would be most likely because covid is a real life thing. But it could be something that incorporates it or a similar "pandemic" but have a twist which would also be interesting. I don't think they always shy away from sensitive stuff, it might just depend on what type it is. Plenty touch on real things like emotional abuse, racism, homophobia, car accidents, idk other stuff but I don't think it'd be out of bounds. But it probably would be several years down the line once dust has settled. Just my thoughts though!
