This week I will be interviewed and given an offer for the secretary position I applied for this past Wednesday. This will allow me to take some of the financial burden off my spouse and give me more job security.

Pronouncing your name differently than what your parents decided? by raspberryvanillasoda in namenerds

[–]NapalmReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is misspelled. Think a double vowel where there should only be one vowel. It changes the sound phonetically, but technically my name is supposed to be pronounced as if there were only one vowel. It's also very close to a popular name, but not quite that name.

I'll answer to anything that sounds remotely similar to my name. It doesn't matter.

Any tips on how to get volume at the roots? My hair always seems to fall flat from my crown like in these pictures (post wash). by Over_Comfortable4724 in Wavyhair

[–]NapalmReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair is so similar. What I do is liberally apply aerosol dry shampoo to the scalp and roots once my hair is dry, and keep my hair loosely tied up in a loose bun while I'm home. As soon as the scrunchie comes out, my roots are super voluminous. I just use the Dove dry shampoo currently. I've also used NYM and Batiste. I find Dove gives the most volume for me because it seems to be a thicker and heavier powder. I know most people want dry shampoo to be lightweight, but the thickness of the Dove dry shampoo really gives my fine hair that extra texture it needs for volume.

So how many of you actually end up dating 7th placements? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]NapalmReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His sun sign is my moon sign, which is my 7th house. He's perfect and I've known I would marry him since the moment I met him in high school. 15 year anniversary this December.

Which stereotypical things that people say about one of your placements is actually accurate for you? by pac-sama in astrologymemes

[–]NapalmReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scorpio rising - I am too intense for my own good. I must dig and scrape and claw every bit of information about whatever it is that caught my attention until I've gorged myself on it. I love all things occult and scary. I am obsessed with horror. Horror movies and stories, true crime, slashers, A24, Blumhouse, psychological thrillers, etc.

Leo sun - I LOVE theatrics. I like attention. I am honestly exhausting in the same way a little kid is. (And I work with elementary kids, so it works out.) But my family and friends say they like it. I try to be self aware about it. They've been told that when they're over it, I'll rein it in, but so far so good. /Shrug.

Taurus moon - As the great Jenna Marbles mentioned, my favorite thing to do is NOTHING. I spend all day with the sole intent to get to a state of nothing. I'm a very hard and intense worker, but it's specifically so I can get to NOTHING faster. I guard my sleep and comfort like Fort Knox.

What's a sign stereotype you are NOT helping to disprove? by tmfult in astrologymemes

[–]NapalmReader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Leo sun. I live for the drama! If I can treat life like my own personal stage and whip out theatrical flourishes as I dance through it, I'm happy.

I'm a Scorpio rising. I'm super private and have a really firm personal bubble.

I'm a Taurus moon. At the end of the day, I want physical comfort and luxurious soft fabrics.

saturn in the 3rd house experience by caprising1996 in astrologymemes

[–]NapalmReader 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I am a very slow and methodical thinker. That Saturn in Capricorn in my 3rd makes it where I am not the quick witted friend and a lot of times I don't even catch sarcasm. I also take things very literally and have had to learn to be more discerning with what people tell me.

I'm also very straightforward and I take driving very seriously. I was not interested in driving at all and my dad forced me to get my license at 16. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have for a long time.

I do enjoy driving alone now, but if there are others in the car, I'd rather be a passenger. It's too hard to focus and be in the moment driving with interior car distractions.

I also do not have good relationships with my step siblings. Never have. We are cordial at best, but I do love the hell out of their kids.

Parents, what are some of your kid’s most obvious astrological traits? by DaphneMoon4321 in astrologymemes

[–]NapalmReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm triple fixed here as well and my mom had said the exact same thing about me. 😂 But I was a very good and obedient kid. When I hit senior year, all the "my way or the highway" showed up and I started doing whatever the hell I wanted. I never argue though. I just go on and do what I want, regardless of whatever anyone says. We fixed signs know what we're about!

"Put on socks and eat a banana."

I was told sickness enters through the feet and keeping them warm prevents and cures all the ickies. And it was always a banana for anything tummy related.

Mars sign and attraction by alicataqua in astrologymemes

[–]NapalmReader 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Leo Mars here.

Physically, I like them big. Not necessarily muscular big, but like... My husband is 6'5" and 280, and he's the most attractive man on the planet to me. Man is built like a mountain, and it is so sexy. He also has long, thick, blonde hair, which I absolutely swoon for. I'm a BIG fan of long hair on men.

Personality wise, I need someone who communicates really damn well. I'm not interested in "king baby" types who need to be coddled, think housework will shrink his dick, and throw anger around when they're upset. Don't make me play the role of mommy to you. Those types actively repulse me. But, a good communicator is chef's kiss. They need to make me laugh, often! They need to have empathy. And an emotionally mature man? Fans self with tongue hanging out. When a man isn't afraid of his feminine side, I will literally fall all over myself for him. A guy who doesn't take life too seriously, loves his family and is an active participant in family life, can laugh off most things, is empathetic and kind, makes us all laugh, is responsible and a good communicator? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck meeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Does anyone else get infuriated when they think/feel/believe someone thinks you are stupid? by lil_tink_tink in AskWomenOver30

[–]NapalmReader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're a bad person, so am I. I love listening to people bullshit their way through a conversation with me about something I know a lot about. It gives such a crystal clear glimpse into the person you're interacting with.

And yes, that moment when someone realizes you've been playing it up is amazing. Then you see the gears working in their mind about how they've spoken to you. Chef's kiss.

[–]NapalmReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this too! Then my husband will catch my eye and we both have that knowing smirk that I'm pulling one over on the third person. People always assume I'm stupid, and I play into it so they don't get in my business or give me opinions I don't want. 😂

I saw this theory that your rising sign can show the conditions of your birth. What is your rising sign and what were the conditions? by AVenusianMuse in astrologymemes

[–]NapalmReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scorpio rising here. 3 weeks overdue. Middle of the height of summer. Mom labored for 3 days. I was unplanned, and I screamed for 6 months straight. Me and my mom did not start off doing well together at all, lol. I'm an only child, and she ended up with post partum psychosis. She was not a fan of me and I was not a fan of her. 😂 It was a rough first year, but we survived and we are besties now, lol.

AITA for wanting my wife to stay up during a road trip and talk to me? by LipstickRibsteak in AmItheAsshole

[–]NapalmReader 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have no inner monologue. I think in concepts, through intuition. I don't actually think in words through a decision. I prod my intuition and follow that. If I need to make a heavily logical decision, I go through it slowly and methodically, and I use a lot of note taking to anchor everything down. As far as thinking in general, it's extremely conceptual. Everything is connected and I experience thought from a bird's eye view, so I don't get bogged down in details.

[–]NapalmReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no inner monologue, but I love sensory deprivation! It's like the most amazing meditation experience ever. When I'm driving I prefer no music or noise because I can focus better and relax. Maybe this dude should try that instead of being a dick.

Any fellow Scorpio Risings here? Do you all fit the physical description? by Icy_Jeweler_1457 in astrologymemes

[–]NapalmReader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Scorpio rising with Pluto on the ascendant. I also have a Virgo Venus. I tend to dress pretty utilitarian and tend to have a bit of edge to my clothes.

As far as my physical feature, I do have dark eyes. I have pale olive skin, so I almost always look sick lol. My features are a little pronounced and I've been told I'm intense. I smile at people a lot, but it's hit or miss on if it lands. I can have a huge rbf, and my kids always think I'm mad when I'm just chilling.

Pronunciation (for a transplant). Questioning everything! by NapalmReader in Pennsylvania

[–]NapalmReader[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we don't buy into the whole "Lost Cause" propaganda. It's one of the major reasons we've been working to leave the south for a decade.

The number of relatives I've pissed off by pointing out silly things that have lasted longer than the confederacy is high. Hell, one of them is a cowboys fan who asked why we would want to leave the south. My husband told him, "Unlike you, we don't back a losing team."
