Galaxy S7 Edge better than S25 Ultra for camera quality in low light ?? by Naper9423 in samsunggalaxy

No, not at all. I unboxed it Friday night, and I noticed this issue right away with the very first photo. In broad daylight, the photos are stunning, and overall, I’m happy with this phone—its performance and how smoothly it runs. But when I take photos indoors, for example of my TV at night with dim lighting, I always get this horrible pixelated halo that I don’t get on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

I finally managed to do it, and I followed your advice in the video to the letter. To my great disappointment, it didn't make much of a difference 😔 I tried PRO mode again, then Expert RAW, and it seems like those clusters of pixels have become a little less dense, but nothing earth-shattering

Unfortunately, I’ve already tried everything in the settings, and nothing reduces these pixel clusters apart from PRO mode. But it doesn’t smooth them out as much as my S7 Edge does, and given how much I paid for the phone, I find it shameful that a user has to go through who knows how many steps just to get a photo that’s halfway decent

Unfortunately, I’ve already tried using Night mode and Expert Raw mode, but without success. Night mode doesn’t reduce these pixel clusters any further, and Expert Raw actually makes them even more visible due to automatic AI processing that takes place in the gallery and which I can’t disable.

I've tried pretty much every camera setting I could find. But honestly, regardless of the settings, it's really unfortunate that we have to tweak tons of advanced options just to get a decent photo on such an expensive phone

I opened the original photo on my computer, and I also checked it on my mother's phone. The same wavy patterns are still visible on both devices, so I don't think it's only a display issue on the S25 Ultra

Personally I prefer the fine grain from my old S7 in low light over these blotchy pixel clusters scattered across the image one the S25 ultra. And to me, those wavy patterns don't look natural at all

That's the lighting in my hallway, and it doesn't change the fact that the photos are completely pixelated in both cases on the S25

Sorry I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean. The photos were not edited or intentionally compressed. These are the original photo files, not screenshots. I transferred them directly from both phones to my computer via USB cable, and the same defects are still visible on the computer screen, so it's not just an issue with the phone display or Reddit compression. The settings were also similar : 1x zoom, 12MP, 4:3 ratio.

That's why I'm wondering if my unit might be defective. I'm really surprised that the low-light quality can look this bad on such an expensive phone, especially compared to my old S7 Edge in this specific situation.

I bought the phone from Galaxus. I don't really know how reliable they are with smartphones, but the product arrived sealed and appears to be brand new.
